Please read this if you are considering hiring Nu for any form of refurb work. I don't know who is to blame for what became a nightmare that Nu and associates created. Let's just say it all started with Russ Gibson. If he turns up on site, then I strongly suggest you go else where. If you do work with Nu, I suggest that you keep hold of as much of the money for as long as you can. They only do things when they want to and as soon as there isn't enough money left they just keep making promises and never deliver. A 6-8 week project is now in week 20 and not complete. Project management was an absolute joke. 2.5 months ago I was told that there was only 2 weeks work left. 2 months of work later and still not complete. The builder in question is Istok. Let's just say that they work hard but not smart. They are messy and are constantly having to redo things. Some of the work had to be redone as we questioned the quality at the time it was done. Only to find that what they claimed to have done never actually happened. There are many issues but some are so big that there is a need to have the floor relaid in places and maybe all. There is damage to the actual building, the is a snag list is well over 60 items and the quality of some parts and work is appalling. Building control are left waiting to complete, the electrics haven't been fully certified, there are bare wires around, some don't work. They ruined a carpet in one of the rooms that they promised wouldn't be impacted. Replacing that is significant and means one of the rooms is out of action too. Nick does talk the talk and seems interested in making things right but, I don't think he has control of the builders he works with and as such, 4 weeks on from all the promises, not a single thing has been done. I have attached a small sample of the issues we still have. They have most of the agreed money so no idea how much it is going to cost to get this lot sorted! Over promise and under deliver should be their slogan.
