We worked with Melinda through all phases of our custom home build. She has an amazing ability to look at drawings on a piece of paper and visualize them in three dimensions. She suggested changes to the original plans of our home that made a tremendous difference in the final outcome and design. I would never have thought to make these changes, but am so happy that she did! We have small children and were concerned about making our space “livable” and functional while still looking stylish. She took every detail into consideration and accomplished this perfectly! She was able to blend our sense of style with her exquisite taste to make our home look amazing! I can't give Melinda enough stars. We started working with her in 2014, and in the past two years, she's helped us make changes that have transformed our home. She has impeccable taste, is honest (which I so appreciate) and respectful to my budget and taste. Melinda has a strong fundamental knowledge of design and is a true artist. I've seen several of her projects, and no two look the same. She's able to first and foremost really listen and understand what her client is looking for and then adapt to her clients taste and mix in her own twist to take homes to the next level. When you live in a house for a long time, you no longer see the potential. Melinda came in and immediately knew how we could add a two story addition to create a master bath and first floor laundry. Two things you never find in a one hundred year old home. She left the stone exterior walls exposed and vaulted the ceilings so that when you shower you look out into the trees. It was very important that we maintain the character of the house and the addition had to look original to the home. She also gutted the kitchen and reconfigured it, so that it opens up to what was once the formal dinning room and is now my family room. She even made sure to salvage the original doors, so that any future owner could restore the home to its original look. She designed custom cabinets to match existing original cabinetry throughout the house. My new kitchen is gorgeous, timeless and bright and received the stamp of approval from the Historic Society Melinda mixed new furnishings with my antiques and took my home of 20 plus years from formal and dark to relaxed, elegant and flooded with light. Every room is refreshed but still me and my friends are envious. The project took a year was on time, on budget, and I fell in love with my home all over again.

Melinda Faranetta understands design. She has an incredible gift for recognizing the needs of her clients. She did an AMAZING job with our 70s lake house. We did a complete overhaul of our kitchen and living areas. More light, open spaces with a comfortable design that allows for entertaining the crowds. You won't be disappointed! She's absolutely the best!!!!
