We're absolutely thrilled with the experience we had with Kitchen's Plus during our kitchen remodel. While such a project can often be overwhelming, the team at KP ensured the process was as seamless and stress-free as possible. We received bids from other companies as well, but KP's quote was very competitive and we appreciated their willingness to provide an initial design even before a deposit was made. Over the subsequent months, Sarah helped us design our dream kitchen. She was remarkably attuned to our desires and brought lots of fresh ideas to the table that we hadn't even contemplated. Once the project started, Jeff, our Project Manager, was exceptional. He stayed on top of everything, always seeming to be two steps ahead. His foresight and attention to detail really eased our stress and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Mike and Loretto handled the day-to-day work, displaying consistent professionalism and a resourceful approach, especially when dealing with our home's many unexpected curveballs. The end result was a kitchen that greatly exceeded our initial expectations - something that could easily grace the cover of a home decor magazine. The impeccable quality of the work is evident in the pictures, but they don't fully capture the exceptional customer service we received throughout the process. As first time home owners tackling our first major home project, we spent a lot of time searching and talking with various contractors about our kitchen renovation. That is, until we stumbled into Kitchens Plus. The conversation was educational and helpful but made us comfortable with their knowledge and experience and available services that would cover as much or as little as our final project scope would require. The Kitchens Plus team patiently and expertly guided us through the entire process with helpful input and suggestions that showed that they care about the outcome for their customers. They listening and responded to our vision which resulted in an outcome of a new kitchen we love. The service and communcation was fantastic. What really shows their level of experience and expertise is how little surprises or changes occured along the way. That isn't by mistake but because of their expertise, they were able to create a plan that included the likely surprises. Which of course then made those changes not at all surprising. The were also very gracious to work with us when we decided to add a few extra items into the project along the way. We had one element of our project that was exceptionally tricky wall removal for which over half of the other contractors told us it wasn't possible. Since they understood how much we hoped it was possible, Matt and Axcel made every possible effort to make it happen! They literally let nothing stop them including 'jumping through windows' to help us get the outcome we envisioned. It felt like they really went above and beyond for what they knew was important for us. And by the way, everyone who comes first notices how nice it is after they made the wall disappear! SO thank you again! We certainly recommend the Kitchens Plus team and will not hesitate to call them for our next projects! Let me start of by saying I LOVE my kitchen! Kitchens and bathrooms in my opinion are two crucial areas on a home you cannot cut corners on. Trying to find a good company was a bit challenging at first until I came across Kitchens Plus. (I found them through a neighbor). From the moment I stepped in I knew this would be the place. Let me begin by saying it is a very organized business, with a very clean showroom and they have so many options! Sarah was able to come to my home, take measurements, asked what I had in mind and went back and created a design for us. I was so blown away by her design that it almost seemed unreal that my kitchen could look like that. Moving forward, we decided this would be the place we would trust to do our kitchen remodel. Matt the owner is awesome! He runs a very tight ship. He listens to what you have to say and makes sure to check in during the whole process. I think this speaks volumes when an owner can take the time to check in and make sure everything is running smoothly. His team was on time, everything was done on schedule and the outstanding workmanship is by far some of the best I’ve seen. My kitchen turned out amazing. It looks just like the rendering Sarah made for me if not better! I without hesitation would refer anyone to Kitchens Plus. We were extremely pleased with our kitchen remodel that Kitchen Plus did for us this year. They are the WHOLE package with the General Contractor (Matt), Certified Kitchen Designer (Sarah) and a California licensed architect. This made everything so much easier for us. Matt and Sarah were amazing, they listened very carefully to what we wanted and created a plan and design that we loved and fit our budget. It was a very extensive remodel with moving walls, shrinking the size of a powder room and needing a bigger footing because of a new 6 foot pop-out window, but they handled it all smoothly including the proper permits. The crew was great, always on time, hard workers and cleaned up at the end of each day:) We get so many compliments on our kitchen and will continue to refer them to others. I promise you won't be disappointed!

We wanted to remodel our kitchen because we wanted a more open layout. After receiving several quotes from different contractors, we felt that Kitchens Plus was a good fit for us. Jim Peterman, our salesman listened to my dream kitchen plans and he moved forward quickly drawing out kitchen layouts. After making a few adjustments we signed the contract and looked forward to the day the work would start. However, we had to change our start schedule and Matt was very understanding. After the rescheduled start date the kitchen demo team Loreto and his crew were done in one day. Wow. Then all the work came together with the wall removal, the living room and hallway ceilings scraped, re-textured and painted. Cabinets arrived and Mike magically assembled and installed them with expertise and skill. I might say that he can figure out anything that won't come together easily. Mike is a great electrician too! He made sure my cabinet lights were working correctly.

Kitchens Plus did our kitchen remodel - new cabinets, drawers, peninsula, and a wonderful floor to ceiling hutch. It has been great all these years with plenty of space to store everything. Recently a cabinet door hinge cracked and the door would not stay closed. Mike came and replaced the hinge and also replaced hinges on other cabinet doors that might break in the future. Mike was very professional and friendly. He called when he was on the way which was very helpful. Everything went fine and after 23 years the kitchen still looks great.

I have ZERO complaints about Kitchens Plus. We waited several years to do our remodel so that we could do it how we wanted to. All of the things you worry about with construction (showing up late, or not at all, cost increases, time increases) were not an issue with these guys! They gave us an estimate, and stuck to it. They gave us a timeline, and they stuck to it. Each representative of Kitchens Plus that we came into contact with arrived on time, kept a clean work space, and was respectful. They even managed to keep track of our cats, dog, and turtle. We always felt like our home was being taken care of, and that was important to us. We will forever recommend Kitchens Plus to our friends and family.

While we encountered some delays getting plans with our original designer, once Matt Barns stepped in, the process moved quickly and smoothly. Kitchens Plus was able to design and provide the cabinets needed to create our custom "professional shelf" island based on our own vision and drawings. They were also instrumental in helping us to custom-size some cabinets to fit in with existing built-in cabinets and provide us with the necessary drawer rails to fit. We couldn't be happier with the final product!

I was very impressed with Kitchen’s Plus. We wanted to redo the entire kitchen and did not know where to start. We checked out several companies. We were impressed the most by Kitchen’s Plus. It started with Dennis, who had ideas for our kitchen that we didn’t even consider. He drew up about 5 different layouts, more than any other company we went too. Matt and his team were the best. Matt was very good with letting me know the progress of the work and would answer any questions we had or address any concerns we had during the projects. It was our first remodel of our home and we were somewhat new to the idea of having someone in our home when we were not there. It passed very quickly. This is a very trustworthy company. We have a chocolate lab who was very excited to see them every day. They let him out and I am sure gave him treats. The job was very well done and we were so pleased with the kitchen, that we hired them to do both our bathrooms. During the remodel, I would ask if they could do other things, like get rid of popcorn ceilings, remove all the doors, and replace with new doors, etc. They gave me a quick quote and extras were done along with the main job. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants a job done well with people who you can trust to be in your home. Shout out to Aksel who was amazing during all 3 remodels.

We used Kitchens Plus a few years ago to do an addition on our home as well as a complete Kitchen remodel. This job was huge and done in two phases. The addition doubled the size of our home and was two stories. It included a full master suite and Mother-in-laws apartment that had a kitchen and was fully handicap compliant. The second phase was a remodel of our "old" house kitchen, all new floors, windows, new roof, new stucco, and some carpet. The quality of the work was top notch. The price very competitive. The communication was easy. The design was perfect. The workers were there every day and pleasant to be around. There were no delays and maybe the most important part now is that years later if something comes up, Matt and his team are 100% responsive in communicating and even driving up to our home the following day to address what seemed to be a leak. The very next day! Not long ago I wanted to find some touch-up paint for the kitchen cabinets and they were very helpful and followed up to make sure the issue was resolved. I can not recommend them more. I am happy to be a personal reference if anyone wanted to talk with me or see photos of the work.

After checking into several remodelers around town, Kitchens Plus came out as our top choice. The whole process, as well as the results of our kitchen and bath remodel just confirmed we made the right decision. Matt Barns and his staff were excellent in all aspects of the project. They adhered to the time line and kept us informed of the schedule. They were attentive to details big and small, and provided effective solutions to anything that came up from the original construction. Jim Peterman and Stefanie Zanow really helped to finalize all the layout and design aspects. To sum it all up, this was the most positive experience we could have hoped for, with exceptional quality and craftsmanship at a price that was better than most other remodelers we looked into.

This is the company to go with for kitchen or bathroom remodels. My first remodel was a kitchen in 1994 when Matt, the owner, was just starting out in sales. My second was another kitchen remodel after I moved and bought a condo in 2005. My third and fourth were my master bath and guest bath a year ago. Kitchens Plus did a fantastic job. They were knowledgable in every aspect of the remodels and their quality of workmanship is outstanding. They worked with my budget and personal time schedule and completed the projects when promised. All workers were polite and courteous and cleaned up daily at the end of the day. Please-----at least call them for a quote on your next project. Your won't regret it.

We worked with Kitchens Plus, La Mesa, CA on the remodeling of our kitchen in 2013 and now on the addition of a powder room. They are extremely professional and detail oriented from design to completion. They use the highest quality materials and provide the best service that we have ever experienced.

Kitchens Plus finished our concurrent kitchen and bath remodels in late August last year. So why nearly five months to write a review? We wanted to live with our beautiful new kitchen and bath for awhile to be sure the new functionality and usability would prove itself on a daily basis. Well, I can tell you that thanks to owner Matt Barns and his Kitchens Plus staff our satisfaction is complete. The effectiveness of our kitchen design proves itself day in and day out. Mike and Loretto were the guys doing the majority of the work and I commend their workmanship. Mike was the lead man and his particular attention to detail certainly resulted in a better job. They were always on time, patient when we interrupted with questions, and cleaned up every day. My wife and I were rather particular on a number of things but Matt never blinked. He delivered on his commitment to resolve any concern we had. He stated that he believes "there are no problems; only challenges." Good attitude. He came by almost every day and always made us feel like he had nothing but time for us. He returned phone calls within a reasonable period of time. Any contractor is only as good as his or her last job and Matt Barns understands this. We will not hesitate to use them again. Call their La Mesa office and ask for pictures. Ours was not a particularly large job; but then job size doesn't matter when it comes to customer satisfaction. Kitchens Plus did an excellent job for us; I'm sure they will for you, too.

Kitchens Plus has done an incredible job making our house a home. Over the years, they have remodeled our kitchen, remodeled three bathrooms, built a room addition and put on a front patio. After the first job, they won our business for life. The quality is top notch and the crew was very enjoyable to work with. They kept everything clean and neat and were extremely nice and professional. Every project was done on time and within the budget. There are many contractors to choose from, but Matt Barns and his team at Kitchens Plus represent a level of ethics and attention to detail that can't be matched. They designed and constructed a bathroom and bedroom for me and everything I needed l as a disabled war vet was done to my complete satisfaction, on time and at the budget they quoted. The addition matched the outside design of my house so closely that it doesn't look like an addition at all.

My wife and I selected Kitchens Plus after interviewing several San Diego area remodeling firms. Matt Barns, the owner of the firm, and his designer Stefanie Zanow created a logical and complete plan for our work. Pricing was competitive and the services provided seemed to answer questions we didn't know to ask. Work began on time, ended on time, and there were no surprises in terms of price or the actual services agreed upon. The Kitchens Plus crew were professional and pleasant, and there was no smoking, drinking, or swearing in our home - and that was really appreciated! I would suggest Kitchens Plus to anyone considering a remodel, and I have done so to each person who admires the work performed in our home.

Kitchens Plus performed a major living room kitchen remodel for my Wife and I in the summer / fall of 2015. The project was completed per the upfront schedule and on budget. The workers came on a regular schedule and always left the work area clean and safe every day. The staff was always friendly and helpful. As I am a home project person myself, I particularly appreciated Kitchen Plus attention to detail and quality even if not covered in the specification and/or would not even be visible in in the finished construction. I am very confident Kitchens Plus has provided my Wife and I a worry free remodel which we will enjoy for years to come.

I have used Kitchens Plus to have our master bathroom changed to a disability bathroom and updated it. I have since had this bathroom redone and I love everything they have done. I am now starting on having them update my kitchen. I know it will turn out well because everything else they have done for me has been excellent. Good prices and very professional.

We first hired Kitchen's Plus in 2012, when we built a 2,000 square foot addition and a new 3 stall garage. We received five bids, and Kitchen's Plus came in with both the best price and showed the greatest "effort" in the quality of their proposal. We were nervous to hire them, because their name is based on "Kitchens," and our project had nothing to do with a kitchen. They did a GREAT job! They were easy to work with, as we asked for change after change - as the project evolved, we modified what we wanted, and Matt and his team always offered a fair price for the changes and did great work. By then end of the project, everything was perfect: the new addition included a mother-in-law apartment, a new master bedroom, a new master bathroom, a new garage, and a new large playroom for our kids. Two years later, in 2014, we decided to do a massive kitchen remodel. We hire Kitchen's Plus to gut our kitchen down to the cement slab and the studs in the wall; design and build a new kitchen, including a new sky light in the ceiling / roof; new windows and doors for the "original house" (all windows and doors replaced except for those in the 2012 addition); new carpets and hardwood floors in the original house; and a new window cut into the wall of our living room. Again, the work was excellent, and the cost was entirely fair. For this second project, we didn't even get a second bid. After building our addition, we developed significant trust in Matt and his team, and simply worked with them on the designs, costs, and timelines. Today we have a dream kitchen, a great apartment for my mother-in-law, and a master bedroom suite in a new addition that is wonderful. We basically have a new house, and could not be happier with the work that Matt and his team did.

The Kitchens Plus team was extremely responsive to our ideas for a kitchen remodel and the designer worked with us to get a really great design that fit our needs. The construction phase was well planned and the work progressed as planned with a very competent team of professionals. We are very happy with with the results of the remodeling effort. Kitchen's Plus specializes in both design and remodel and they excel in both. They were infinitely patient in answering all of my questions and design changes along the way. They are extremely knowledgeable, hardworking and dedicated to making sure the project you envisioned becomes reality. The owner, designer and installers are all top notch and demonstrate integrity in all they do. My kitchen came out better than expected which is not easy in a complex remodel project. . Any proposed budget changes were clearly explained and I was given the option whether or not to include those changes in the kitchen. Kitchens Plus goes well above and beyond for their customers. I would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them to others.
