We had a very positive experience working with Modern Style Construction on a basement and kitchen remodeling project. The quality of the work was high, they helped us create a design that optimized our space, and the outcome was exactly what we expected. Most importantly, the employees-- from the office staff to the workers-- were always courteous, responsive, and highly skilled. They also stayed largely on budget and on schedule, and were always transparent about any design changes or minor delays. We've worked with several construction companies over the years, and this was by far our best experience. We would highly recommend them.

We really enjoyed working with Sergei and his team on a complete remodel of our basement. I would definitely work with them again on any future projects, and I recommend them whole-heartedly to others looking to remodel their home in any way! The whole process was well organized and stress-free. The whole team was also a pleasure to work with. Sergei and Michelle met with us to view the space and put together a design (which incorporated every feature we wanted). They were also very innovative with how to work around the constraints of the space. We then worked closely with Michelle to source all the materials that were required - a huge help for us. We then moved on to the construction phase, where the team was extremely professional and responsive. They kept us informed of their progress and were attentive to the details we had requested. The final product was exactly what we had hoped for and within the budget we had set out. We can’t thank MSC enough!

Modern Style Construction recently completed a design-build renovation project on our Silver Spring home, transforming the unfinished basement of a 90-year old house into a beautiful living space with family room, office, three-piece bathroom, laundry room, and storage space. We are tremendously pleased with the result and grateful for the professionalism and attention to detail that marked every step of our working relationship with Sergei Tsoy and his team. The project proceeded seamlessly from preliminary consultation visit and costing, through design and selection of finishing materials and municipal permits, to the onsite work. We were impressed with the consistent quality of workmanship from framing, through plumbing and electrical work, to flooring, drywalling, painting, and final finishing. The Modern Style team provided superb support on the design of the space, including patience with adjustments made at our request as work proceed and thoughtful advice on soundproofing and other options. We were especially pleased with the elegant solution found to replace the intrusive old gravity-fed radiator pipes with copper pipes mounted flush with the joists, which resulted in greater ceiling height and design aesthetic. The core construction team brought a superb mix of skills and attention to detail, worked neatly, and were friendly and polite. Modern Style has our highest recommendation to prospective clients. We look forward to working with them on further renovations.

MSC has been our general contractor for this project. I can definitely agree with previous reviewers here. Their crew was dependable and punctual, which was important. They informed us of any challenges with the project right away and provided solutions. They were straightforward, knowledgeable, do quality work and work within the estimated budget. It is easy to recommend them to others.

I have just purchased another property and called Modern Style Construction again for another round of renovations on my new home. Although we are still in the remodeling phase, I can't thank enough MSC team for their professionalism and responsiveness. A great group of folks that know what they are doing.

Modern Style Construction did a whole house renovation that we longed for a while and did not disappoint. We lived without doing anything to the house for 20 years and it needed a major update. Their design team did a marvelous job on our interior design. We were always informed on every step of the project and that can certainly be appreciated.

We are the home owners of the master bath remodel pictures depicted in North Bethesda. It has been 2 1/2 years and MSC has not been able to construct a shower that hasn’t leaked through our kitchen ceiling. Although the pictures look great, their workers do NOT have the training or expertise to fix problems of their own making. I would not recommend using this company.

Every aspect of the working w/MSL was a pleasure. My bathroom remodel included structural changes that could have been a challenge to less competent companies. The design team built on my original plan w/o attempting to promote current trends. The work crew is highly skilled and attentive to the smallest details. The team was easy to contact and returned emails/phone calls in a timely matter. Everyone was professional, friendly and honest. I will only use MSL for any remodeling in the future and recommend them to my friends.

Modern Style Construction did an amazing job on our basement finishing project in Bethesda, MD. We have added a nice size recreation area and 2 additional bedrooms with egress windows and a luxurious bathroom. I really liked their broken down phases of the work where it took us about 4 weeks to complete the design phase and then 8 weeks to complete the construction. Everyone from the owner, designer, project manager and crews on site were a pleasure to work with and everyone knew exactly what needed to be done to complete the project on time. We were always informed on the progress and minor issues were also brought up to us ASAP. Thank you Modern Style Construction team, we would not hesitate to hire them to work for us again. I was referred to Modern Style Construction by my coworker had remodeled their basement with them. I would say this was the best experience I have had with a contractor. They were very prompt on their schedule, always returned phone calls and kept us up to date throughout the entire project. Their project management is top notch and great customer service.
