Maitland & Poate is a family-run business. Driven by a passion for stunning tiles and interiors, we travelled the sunny region of Andalucia in Southern Spain – Sevilla to Cadiz to San Ferdnando, accompanied by our very young children. We were determined to find the best suppliers of the highest quality reclaimed antique tiles. Our love for old tiles lead us to into another area, new and beautifully designed encaustic cement tiles, handmade using the original techniques from Valencia and Cordoba. We have a specialist team versed in the preparation, laying and finishing of our tiles. Our friendly team offer an onsite visit to assess the requirements of your job and will see the installation process through to a perfectly laid encaustic tile. Another interior aspect was inspired by the plastered, textured finishes you find more commonly across Europe. Our Lime Paints come in beautiful soft and neutral ranges. The finish is both textured and deep adding warmth and character to a room. The paints are eco friendly and far healthier to live with than oil or emulsion paints.

Bought approx. 10 sqm of unique reclaimed Spanish tiles from Maitland & Poate in dark red and pale green for a bathroom and small WC. Chris provided highly personalised guidance and helped us choose the best tiles for our needs. The tiles look fantastic. They were cleaned and delivered to our house on time and without any breakage, and Chris went the extra mile to explain to us how to lay them. We are so glad we went with Maitland & Poate for our tiles as we had a bad experience with one of their competitors who are sadly notorious for delivering items several weeks (and even months) late.

It was a pleasure to use Maitland and Poate for my bathroom project at the end of 2017 and it was invaluable to be able to contact Chris with various technical questions regarding the beautiful reclaimed spanish tiles I ordered from him. The tiles are exceptional and I am so pleased I researched and found Maitland and Poate as I feel I now have a much more individual look that has made my small en-suite bathroom look much more elegant thanks in part to the antique tiles. Saw their tiles in a magazine and did some investigating. A wonderful collection of both reclaimed and newly made tiles, all of which have a really distinctive look and feel. Ordering was very straightforward and the company kept me updated on the progress of the shipment at all times. Tiles have now arrived (for two different bathrooms) and we couldn't be more thrilled. Real wow factor and everyone who has seen them has been blown away. Cannot recommend them highly enough - a small family business producing absolutely superb materials and customer experience.

I bought some lovely reclaimed cement tiles to build a harth for my new fireplace. I met with Chris at his house where he showed me a number of tiles with all sorts of colourful designs (some brand new, some reclaimed). I was probably there for about an hour, umming and ahhing over which one to go for. Chris was very friendly and patient and allowed me to take photos of the different designs and take a sample home free of charge. He then followed up with an email explainimg in detail how to clean the tiles and install them properly. I would definitely recommend using Maitland and Poate, the customer service is brilliant and they offer some wonderful and original handcrafted tiles at competitive prices.

I was very lucky to find Maitland & Poate Ltd by chance when I was browsing online and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in reclaimed Spanish tiles. I met up with Chris after contacting him and giving him some details about my project. He couldn't have been more helpful or enthusiastic. I found there was a good range of stock to choose from and Chris was more than willing to spend time laying out various tiles and borders to help me make a decision. I couldn't be more pleased with the product I chose. Chris was also happy to offer technical advise and recommended some products to ensure we achieved a great finish. I found Maitland & Poate to be knowledgeable and passionate, the customer service I experienced was excellent and the tiles well worth the investment.
