I always admired the Scandinavian interior style. Warm, natural colors and furniture made to be used, not set up for show. Charlotte Coffey, who grew up in Sweden excels at this interior design style. I had the pleasure of working with her on a recent project and was impressed how she turned this apartment into a beautiful place with very happy owners.

I hired Charlotte to help set up our new home after a recent move. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her. She is warm, kind, patient and approachable. She was so creative about using the pieces that we already had and making suggestions about where we could purchase new, affordable things, always keeping our budget in mind. She has a great eye and is an expert at mixing quality pieces with more inexpensive ones. She listened to and respected my ideas and vision, while also put forth many creative ideas of her own. It was clear she had no agenda other than to make our home beautiful, personal and functional. I am so happy with the results and cannot recommend her highly enough.

I’ve really enjoyed working with Charlotte! She has fabulous taste and will bring an authentic Scandinavian aesthetic to any project. Her work while modern, is warm and inviting because she brings in natural materials and color into the space. Charlotte listens attentively and works collaboratively so that the space is designed for how people live and not simply for looks. She is very versatile and detail oriented which is why she will often design custom pieces of furniture that fits both the space, function and budget perfectly. We had worked with other interior designers before we moved from Southern California to Marin County, but working with Charlotte and her team at Lotta Coffey Design & Interiors has been the best experience we’ve ever had . We asked Charlotte to help us pick paint, furniture, rugs, lighting, and to arrange our art. We wanted to create an elegant, yet relaxed home where everything felt right to us. Charlotte interviewed us thoroughly, and showed us many pictures, to find out exactly what kind of result we were after. We’d never been shown pictures before, and since we have a hard time visualizing what something will look like, it was really helpful. She quickly presented time schedules and budgets, more complete and accurate than we’d had in the past. What really surprised us though, was when she insisted that getting rid of things was as important as looking for something new. How right she was and how refreshing to have a designer who didn't push us to buy more! We did end up buying a few new items, but only after letting go of the furniture that simply didn't fit our lifestyle anymore. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room/dining room, and media room later, we look back at the process with joy. And I'm absolutely positive that the excitement and enthusiasm that Charlotte and her team brought to the table, is part of why we like our "new" home so much. One final piece of advice: Get her while you can – this one will go far!
