It is with the greatest enthusiasm that I write about Peter Kress and his magnificent creations. I recently moved to an apartment and I needed a built in kitchen table as well as a large bookcase running throughout the hall. Peter designed and made both, carefully paying attention to the woods in the apartment as well as its architectural design. He told me exactly when the work would be completed and honored his date. I cannot begin to enumerate the compliments his work has received—from the managers of my apartment building to friends who have come to visit, to workmen whose expertise enabled them to fully appreciate Peter’s workmanship, careful attention to detain, superb knowledge of different woods, and brilliant aesthetic taste. I have encountered no other furniture maker whose exquisite craftsmanship matches that of Peter Kress.

Peter transformed our rather ordinary living room into cozy room with a lit of pop! We are not very creative people, we told Peter what we were looking for and what we got blew us away. The level if detail in his work was so surprising. Our home was built in 1924 and the built in needed to look like the rest of the house, they look like they have always been there! It definitely added to the value of our property! We would recommend Kress Woodworking very highly!!

Arteriors Designer Finishes

We worked with Peter Kress before and hired him to build out the kitchen in our century old farmhouse. He is not your average carpenter. He is an artist with excellent attention to detail. We purchased antique cabinets and trimmed them out with molding to fit them perfectly, making them appear to have always been here. He even added trim (without us asking him to) to finish an end grain piece of wood perfectly even though it’s only seen when we open the drawers. Peter made two pieces for us to match a much-loved piece perfectly and they came out even better than the original. His work is amazing, clever, real art and we highly recommend him for any carpentry projects! Ami and Stephanie Mesner, Natick, MA

Bebeaux Remodel

Peter Kress is just one of those amazingly talented craftsman that really understands the whole picture. His classical training at North Bennett St School shows through in every thing he does. Pete has completed numerous projects for our remodeling company over the years and his skills have graced many clients homes. On a recent west of Boston addition, Pete’s interior finish work was so astounding, the building inspector was speechless and declared it the most beautiful room he had ever walked in.

Peter Kress Woodworking built our cherry wood bannister in our split level home. He also restored an antique hallseat, even fabricating a missing arm in order to complete the piece. He is an artist, builder, finisher, woodworker, and designer. Excellent!
