Working with Katie and the team has changed our lives. We can’t help but smile when we walk into a Katie Malik designed room didn’t think twice about engaging them on our next project. Collaborative, inspirational, creative and personable, it’s been, and continues to be a delight.

Working with Katie is always a pleasure. She has an amazing mind for design, always looking to help solve solutions, offer options, opinions and create amazing designs. I would highly recommend using Katie from a home owner point of view as Ive seen lots of her amazing work. I would also highly recommend working with her on projects as a contractor/builder as she is great to work with.

Katie and Chloe did an excellent job designing our ground floor extension. From the very beginning Katie was very responsive and quickly got back to us with any questions we had. We were under a time crunch, and she was able to deliver amazing results very quickly. Throughout the process, Katie and her team were very easy to work with and did a great job of taking our ideas and making them into a beautiful design. We had been really stuck on a media unit, and Katie was able to design a unique solution that fixed our issues. The visuals that you receive are amazing and really allowed us to see how things would look which was invaluable when making decisions. The overall process and the products you receive are expertly put together and really helpful. Katie has also been amazing providing support post design with a few questions we had. We would highly recommend Katie and really enjoyed our project.

Firstly, what Katie and her team at Katie Malik Interiors produced for our project was brilliant and not only do we highly recommend Katie as an interior designer, but we intend to go back to them very shortly with our next small design project. Initially, the thought of using an interior designer had not even crossed our minds. We had just been approved planning permission for a rear extension build and then came across Katie’s social media posts. Seeing as she was local to us, we decided to get in touch and find out more about this process. On their first visit and meeting, Katie and Joy spent a good bit of time to chatting and finding out more about us, our project and what we had in mind including aspects of the space, theme, colours, potential wow factors and importantly our realistic budget. Based on this, they promptly came back with a quotation and also detailed plan on how their design process would work with options depending on our potential budget. We decided to go ahead with Katie’s 4 stage Design Service Package to design a new entrance hall, downstairs WC and in the new extension build a new kitchen and family space. I found Katie on Houzz and contacted her. Immediately she was friendly, understood what we wanted and extremely timely with deliverables. She was so patient with our requests and in terms of the suggestions for our home, we love it! Thank you so much!

Katie and her team did a great job pulling together a plan for my small two-bedroom flat in north London. The layout had some awkward components and I had quite a bit that I was looking to accomplish, so the complexity was high :) Her and the team pulled together a great design in the end, having taken on feedback throughout on what worked with my style and what I was looking for! In addition, the pandemic naturally caused some complexities with vendors, timelines, and some of the product, but Katie and her team managed the last minute changes efficiently and professionally to support me at a time I would have otherwise been immensely stressed. With the help of her contractors, they actually were able to get a majority of the design work complete in less than 4 weeks, as I had a fast-approaching move in date, with only a handful of bits to complete after move in. I would highly recommend Katie and her team, and will definitely use them again in the future! :)

Katie Malik Interiors were exceptional across the board! I had a number of challenges with my project and Katie came up with ideas and views that I hadn't even considered which were beyond my expectations and helped me gain the most out of the space in my home. My project is a full renovation of my home, including loft conversion, new outhouse and extension. Katie was able to help visualise all of this and show me how it would all look and importantly gave me a lot of confidence with the amount of space I had to work with. Katie is very personable and took the time to understand the project and give it a very unique feel that was right for me. I would highly recommend Katie and her team to anyone who is looking to do up their home, whether the project is big or small.

Our story with Katie is a bit unique since we're based in the United States and worked virtually with Katie. I've known Katie for quite some time now, having met in University, I was always inspired by her style and eye for interior design. My husband and I recently bought a mid-century split-level house in Alexandria, VA and knew we wanted to redesign the entire main floor, including the kitchen, dining area, and living room. The current main floor has a mix of three different flooring materials and colors and the current kitchen blocks out natural light and isn't as functional as it could be. We contacted Katie to help give us ideas on what we could do with the space, sending her just a few photos at first. After an initial consultation, we decided we wanted Katie and her team to design the entire space. Since we're based in the United States and Katie could not physically see our home, we decided that together we could make this work by sending a few visuals. We managed to provide Katie a short recorded video (on our phone!) of our space, photographs from different perspectives, and measurements we took with some measuring tape we roughly sketched to paper. After this, Katie and her team expertly navigated working with US-based suppliers, designing a beautiful and functional space that combined two different styles - boho and mid-century modern. She outfitted the entire space with furniture and fixtures, and provided us specifications for a brand new bespoke joinery to serve as a reading area and storage space. She understood what we wanted from the first step and it was a joy to work with Katie and her team. The visual package she provided detailing everything was stupendous. Communication was always on point communicating via email and/or FaceTime (or skype). I highly recommend Katie as an interior designer, especially if you want to work with her virtually. We've passed our project off to our general contractor and work will be completed Summer 2020.

We purchased a fabulous 3 story sea side property which had amazing potential but which was in desperate need of a total stripping out, redesign and refurbishment. We knew that we didn’t have the skills or experience to get the best result, so we made the sensible decision to get a designer in. After looking online for someone whose work seemed to reflect what we were looking for we discovered Katie. We are so glad that we did! Her approach was absolutely wonderful. We had several meetings where she patiently established what we were looking for and then came back with a comprehensive design that magically exceeded all of our expectations. Her vision in restructuring the living space in particular was inspired but all of the details were perfect. Now that we have moved in, we can honestly say that there is nothing that we would change. As well as retaining Katie for the design side, she also took on the project management and purchasing side. Again, this worked perfectly for us. It was a big job with every room needing to be taken back to bare walls. It involved a new kitchen, new bathrooms, plumbing and wiring, aside from the structural alterations. The contractors she sourced were excellent and all the work was top quality and completed to schedule. Katie was always right on top of the project and kept us fully up to date with progress. Katie has been a delight to work with. She is intuitive on the client’s tastes and never tries to impose ideas (though she would tactfully and charmingly guide us away from some ideas she knew would not work) She is equally brilliant on the overall vision and the smallest detail and couples this with the professionalism and toughness to handle a large project from start to finish. We would have no hesitation in recommending Katie and can’t praise her highly enough.

I have known Katie for a long time and have always found her sense of style inspiring. Recently, we had the chance to work with her on our living room/ dining room/ conservatory and bathroom design when we were moving into a new house. The space had some challenges in terms of light and space, and we wanted to make sure we were making use of the potential of the area effectively. We never worked with an interior designer before and were not sure how the process would go at the beginning but with Katie’s very approachable and friendly attitude, we found it very easy to make decisions that would be otherwise too difficult for us. Katie did an amazing job assessing our style needs and wants, and integrated her space solutions into the style we were after. The final design addressed the challenges in the space and still kept the original style we wanted. After receiving the final design from Katie, the work in the house started by external builders and during this process, she was still in touch with us to make sure she was there in case we needed her. She was happy to step in when there was a need to make minor adjustments and she also showed great flexibility to adjust to the changing circumstances. When working with her, you can easily see her passion for this and it reflects in the ideas she comes up with and the designs she creates. We also witnessed her going beyond the task in hand and making suggestions for the surrounding areas, which we very much appreciated. Overall, she is one of those people that impresses you with their energy, approach to work and professionalism, and we recommend Katie without any hesitation. We are sure we will work with her again in future projects.

Isn't it easy to put furniture into a room to make it functional? We had a living room with a sofa and armchairs but no style or even welcoming atmosphere. Having struggled for a while to design a versatile, family-friendly and functional space we contacted Katie Malik and suddenly a struggle became a journey to beautifully designed room which everyone in the family likes best. It has been a pleasure from the first meeting to talk to Katie so full of enthusiasm, with attention to detail and ability to bring a collection of preferences and whims into a real design. We especially benefited from following Katie's bold ideas which we would have not even thought about. She is able to see beyond the usual and typical. Katie's skills in finding furniture, matching to the existing pieces and her flexibility when plans need to change are commendable. Katie gives a lot of her time and attention to the project. She answered many little questions about accessories and small changes. Additionally, other professionals she chooses to work with and recommends also have high standards and do a superb job (for example, carpenters and joiners that made a focal point bookcase and desk which Katie designed). It is easy to follow Katie's project schedule. She has a clear step by step plan of meetings, presentations and she keeps to her deadlines. We were also able to stop at any point or add additional services. We would recommend Katie without hesitation.

Having never employed an interior designer before, we were a little hesitant but were completely stuck for living room designs having moved into a new property. Clearly we couldn't see past the furniture we had brought with us but fortunately Katie did! She listened to all our various thoughts in our first meeting and came back with two different designs and it's lead to us fitting out the living room with ideas we would never have thought of previously. Katie was very helpful throughout the process and in follow up and we also liked the ability to utilise her exceptional services as much or as little as we liked. We wouldn't hesitate to call on her services again and would recommend taking the plunge to friends and family!
