Jim Newhall is a wonderfully diligent professional who knows the commercial (especially retail) building code in SF inside and out. He is extremely responsive and goes beyond the line of duty as called for by a project. His design/architectural background is invaluable, since he can provide his clients with a plethora of alternatives for fixtures/finishes when plans/drawings are vague on the specifics and fine detail. I would recommend Jim in a heartbeat. I look forward to working with him on future projects.

We have been working with Jim Newhall and Pacific Rim Design and build for a little less than a year now, but feel as though he is part of our restaurant family. His professionalism and firm grasp on the best means in which to accomplish the tasks set forth for him put him head and shoulders any other general contractor we have worked with. Unlike other contractors that may try to squeeze every penny out of their clients, Jim takes steps to make sure that he finds the solution that fits best for the budget and the specific situation. He is a quick study in understanding and anticipating client needs, ingratiating himself at a deep level to see the project through the client's eyes in order to best address any challenges that may come up during the process. I can't praise Jim's work ethic, communication, and general demeanor enough. Opening a restaurant is notoriously known for being a difficult, frustrating, back-breaking endeavor, but Jim has found a way to make the process smooth, efficient, and (dare I say it) pleasant. Pacific Rim D+B may be a smaller outfit than the other guys, but Jim's time is spent just as efficiently. I would recommend his services to anyone looking for a consummate professional.

Innovative designs, creative solutions, always prompt, clear communication, full financial/budget updates and approvals, organized job sites and realistic schedules. I had a large commerical T/I that needed to be completed in 6-weeks and he delivered timely. Didn't think it was possible. I highly recommend Jim Newhall of Pacific Rim Design + Build.
