Studio Green

John Merton is really a prof. We worked together on several Tiburon gardens and I was always happy with the way the gardens and architecture were so well integrated.

I have worked with John and Studio Green on numerous projects over the years. He and his team have shown the ability to adapt their design skills to a variety of project types. John is extremely creative, but also very sensitive to every clients needs. This rare combination makes Studio Green an easy Landscape Architect for me to refer our clients to.

We hired Studio Green to design and oversee the construction of a swimming pool and surrounding stonework and landscape, a new balcony and staircase leading from the house to the garden, and a new stone entry and walkway to the front of the house. We were impressed with John Merten's taste and expertise. The design was and is beautiful and has added tremendous use and aesthetic value to our home. John and his staff oversaw the construction of the project, ensuring that it was completed as designed. I thoroughly enjoy working with John and others at Studio Green and recommend them without reservation.

Sudio Green did a complete six figure landscaping job for us on a gutted mid century modern. This included extensive hard scape, driveway, and all planting. The original landscaping was completely removed and parts of the grounds were regraded. The design work and choice of plant material were outstanding. The work in front is such a show stopper that people driving by for the first time seem to stop and contemplate just how nice everything looks. Working with Studio Green was straight forward. They understood how we wanted the exterior to look and did a fantastic job in translating what we like into a finished product. They also made sure the contractors executed the design properly. We would definitely use Studio Green again were we to do another project and recommend them highly.

It's extremely hard to find a landscape architect that is good at gardens/plants and hardscape -- big and small projects. But after going through four or five firms while we were building our house, we finally found John Merten of Studio Green. John did a fantastic job and we have continued to use Studio Green for all of our projects since then. He has a great design aesthetic and is very easy to work with. I always recommend him to anyone that asks.
