We hired JK Janiga Architects to reimagine our lake cottage into a permanent home. From the beginning, Jerry was focused our helping redesign our home around the ways we use each space and our future needs. He was creative, responsive to our input, and brought his considerable experience to bear in the process. While we interviewed several other contractors, we decided to use PJ Construction to complete the design-build team concept. We could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Our whole house remodeling project was a collaborative effort. Jerry was involved every step of the way, assisting the build team to bring our vision to life. Communication between team members was seamless. I would not hesitate to use the design-build team of JK Janiga and PJ Construction again.

Jerry and his team are consummate problem solvers, designers, and project managers. We have engaged JK Janiga Architects on several projects in Greenbrier County, WV. I have known and worked with Jerry for what is coming up on 30 years. Jerry listens to his clients, develops an understanding of their spoken and unspoken needs and creates a design with a keen sense of function, efficiency and detail that is beyond what is typically seen in the field of architecture. Jerry has worked on several projects with us in our quest to keep our 30+ year old house up to date and well functioning. The major project that we did with him was for a complete kitchen quarters renovation, which included a hallway from the garage, workspace area, full kitchen and sun room, and laundry room. We initially had a concept that Jerry considered in his drawings that turned in to 13 possible options! It was so much fun and gave us so many ideas that we had not considered, but Jerry's vast experiences in this area opened up a world with creative, functional, and stylish options. We ended up with a gorgeous kitchen that will last us a couple decades and still gets constant compliments a few years after the renovation. We also incorporated a "potting shed" using some of the expansion that is basically a fancy and cute closet accessible outside via French Doors. Our HOA does not allow out buildings so this was a great way to keep our lawn accessories out of the garage. Since the kitchen renovation, Jerry has advised us on several other projects around our home. Everything is cutting edge and he has access to the best contractors in the southeastern Michigan area. Last but certainly not least is that you will love working with Jerry. He has such a kind demeanor and is a great listener and collaborator. He works on a project until it is right and when the project is over you'll be thinking of other ways you can work with him. Ultimately I would LOVE for him to design a home for us but we love the space we're in because of him!

After much consideration, we decided to convert one of our bedrooms into a large bathroom. Not knowing what kind of a bathroom design would suit our needs, Jerry Janiga was recommended to us. Jerry designed five excellent blueprints and discussed with us the advantages of each. We found Jerry to very attentive to our requests, extremely prompt in answering our questions, and open to our suggestions and ideas. He assisted us with purchases of our bathroom fixtures, cabinets, mirrors, flooring and swanstone for the shower. Jerry came to our house numerous times before and during the renovation. We highly recommend Jerry because of his architectural knowledge, professionalism, reliability, and dependability for any residential or business project.

We came to Jerry with some very specific ideas about the house we wanted to build. Unlike a previous architect with whom we worked (and subsequently fired), Jerry worked with us to make our dream come true - rather than impose his ideas of what we should build. We started with a floor plan and had even built a model of how we thought the house could look. Jerry not only made our project three dimensional, but he added aesthetic and functional details that we didn't even think of. His planning and attention to detail was thorough from start to finish. He was also a delight to work with. We would have NO HESITATIONS in recommending him.

Jerry has provided architectural service and guidance in the construction of a barn/community building being built as part of a nonprofit park project in Lewisburg. He has quickly and professionally given his assistance to our project. One important aspect of Jerry's help has been in presentations to our Historic Landmarks Commission. In addition, I employed Jerry to advise and help design a 1906 house purchased to restore and sell following completion. He has provided much needed structural and design support as the restoration progresses.

JK JANIGA ARCHITECTS was hired to design and complete the architectural construction documents for a single-story, 12 resident, adult foster care home in Southeast Michigan. Jerry's particular attention to detail, from both an architectural standpoint as well as from "what's best for the end user" was exceptional. Coordinating with the mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines on the project was refreshing. I would recommend JK JANIGA ARCHITECTS again!!!

We have worked with Jerry on 2 projects. One a design/build of a 4000 sq ft home in Ann Arbor, the second a major remodel of a lake cottage. We had such a positive experience with our first home that we did not even talk to another architect. The project was so well thought out, that 23 years later, we still LOVE how our home works for us. I realized many years ago, when looking at new homes, it is the architect that mainly makes the home look like it does in the final viewing. Of course, finishes, colors, etc add to it. But the design, the windows, doors, shapes are all the architects doing.
