We had the pleasure of working with Jennifer for an almost gut remodel for a 2200 sq. ft. condo in San Francisco/Pacific Heights that took an entire year. We interviewed about 3 architects and Jennifer came highly recommended by our designer Stephanie Fillbrandt. Instantly we liked Jennifer’s calm demeanor and vast knowledge and expertise and decided to hire her. We couldn’t have been more correct about her. What she was able to achieve with respect to moving walls and safely removing a structural wall is nothing short of amazing. We have the dream “open layout” because of her expertise. Through the entire process Jennifer was very thoughtful and solution based while being conscious of our budget and our needs. She always explained the pros and cons of things we might suggest and was very informative. In her busy schedule, she always made us feel like the only clients she was working with, and was wiling to give us the time to answer any questions we might have had. And since this was our first project, we had many. Also, she was accurate regarding the timeline to get a permit for our project (others had different opinions), which goes to her experience and knowledge base. Jennifer is also very well informed and knows resources that she is generous in sharing with you even if it doesn’t involve her. She also earned the respect of the entire team even though she had never before worked with our contractor. Overall we were more than happy with Jennifer and her work product together with Stephanie Fillbrandt and would absolutely hire her again.

We are so thankful to Jennifer for making our renovation as easy and successful as possible. Jennifer's process is logical, simple and straightforward. She started with big picture items which iteratively became more focused and detailed. She researched and narrowed our options to make our time with her efficient and productive. We love the layout, flow and airiness of our space, the large amount of hidden storage and the provisions for guests and entertaining she provided for us, including a family room with a Murphy bed which doubles as a 5th bedroom. We feel every bit of our space has been optimized.

Jennifer, and her office partner Stephanie Marsh Fillbrandt, hosted a wonderful design week talk on trends in the interior design world. These women are inspirational and experienced. It was awesome to learn how they value teamwork, transparency, communication and local sources when working with a homeowner. I look forward to working with Jennifer in the future!

After interviewing more than 6 potential architects for our 1929 full house San Francisco remodel I knew Jennifer Tulley Architects would outdesign them all. Jennifer was great to talk to, very relatable, thoughtful, inspiring, polished, professional that came up with great ideas. Jennifer not only understood the design but she worked well with the contractor, the engineer and really knows how things work down at SF planning dept in order to get a permit. Bottom line, she was fantastic to work with! Jennifer has a quiet, disciplined and effective manner. Never once during our renovation did she lose her cool or her steely focus. Rather, she helped resolve disputes in both a calm and controlled manner. What's more, the contractor and the sub-contractors all respected her, which made my life that much easier. Not to be overlooked, her aesthetic sensibilities are flexible and always reflective of her client's taste. Although Jennifer and her team's drawings, designs and details were elegant, timeless yet contemporary, I felt like my home was my home rather than a product of some else's vision.

It was a pleasure working with Jennifer. I found it very easy to communicate my thoughts and ideas. She did a wonderful job designing what we discussed. She also worked very well with the contractor, which made the job seamless!

We had the pleasure of working with Jennifer on a remodel of the living/kitchen/bath area of our home in San Francisco. Jennifer is creative, talented, and professional. She took a dark, neglected space and made it feel light and airy. Jennifer repurposed the redwood from any walls that were removed (the house is over 100 years old) and designed a screen wall that gives the space a unique focal point. We highly recommend her!

Jennifer has been our architect for two major house remodel projects and we recommend her highly. There are four distinguishing characteristics she possess that make her an outstanding architect: 1.) She has an excellent sense of space and design 2.) She listens carefully to clients' ideas and incorporates them into the master plan 3.) She is unflappable and works well in challenging situations; she can handle any contractor or subcontractor with grace and the owner's best interest in mind 4.) She has an extensive network of subcontractors and shares them with her clients. She also has attracted talented people to work for her at her firm. If and when we do another project, we will certainly hire Jennifer again and we would enthusiastically recommend her to others.

Jennifer Tulley provided our best renovation experience to date, and I've been a serial renovator for about 30 years, on multiple homes and projects, small and large. This one was large. She and her company were on time, on budget, innovative in design, precise in plans, highly responsive, and Jennifer is the consummate team player/leader - in our one year of work with the contractor, project manager, and dozens of subs we had a focused and smooth running project. And -- I love the results! Far better than I envisioned and I was dreaming big. I'd say 5 stars is an understatement.

Jennifer is a talented architect with an eye for good design and good sense. She can immediately see how a space could be improved, and has a great sense for how a family will use each room, nook and cranny. She blends the two perspectives to create functional, lovely rooms that we enjoy daily. We have worked with Jennifer on several homes and she has designed floor plans that maximize challenging layouts, and fit every request and need we asked for. Her design aesthetic brought a cleaner, more modern influence to our traditional homes, all while respecting and highlighting the period details we chose to keep. During the construction process Jennifer is a strong advocate for the owner, working to ensure that the choices of materials are reasonable in price, and yield solid aesthetic result. She is patient with first time construction and instructive. During both our remodels she was responsive to my questions, and made sure I understood my choices, and pros and cons of each option. She is very responsive by both phone and email, gets plan revisions done on a timely basis and is just a joy to work with. Meetings with her begin on time, keep moving along, and finish with results.
