I am Janaki, an Architect and Visual Artist currently based in India. After working in Australia as a Visual Artist for more than a decade, I am now based in my hometown of Pune. I have a dual practice here where I indulge in Interior Design as well as Art. I design and customise spaces as well as furniture in my design practice. My design style comprises clean lines, contemporary design with a touch of local craftsmanship and colour. I work with clients to design a space that is unique to them and their lifestyle. I see the project from conceptual stage right through to supervision during execution. I hand cut sheets of paper into intricate visual stories and explorations in my art practice. I also turn layers of newspaper and pre-loved books into quirky sculptures. I enjoy working on private art commissions as well exhibition installations. I am open to collaborating with other interior designers and architects to customise art for their spaces.
