My husband and I have just finished a 4-month long renovation project with Frontiers. They managed a big (to us) kitchen renovation, which included re-configuring the structure of our roof to add a vaulted ceiling. We were lucky enough to be introduced to Frontiers via our kitchen designer. We did shop around for contractors outside of that, but it quickly became obvious the right thing to do was to choose Frontiers. During the planning phase of the project James was our main point of contact. The thing I appreciate most about James is that he is a straight shooter, which is the main reason we decided to choose Frontiers. He always answered our questions straight up, without any sugarcoating. He was very knowledgeable, professional, on time, and he always got back to us when he said he was going to. I never had to wonder what state the planning was in, he kept us in the loop and let us know what to expect next. He also did a really great job estimating the cost of the project, now that we're at the end we're able to see that he was as accurate as it is possible to be for a construction project. Once the project actually started Luke was assigned as our project manager. Luke and Liam were our main crew, with some help from a rotating third and, on occasion, fourth person. Luke was an excellent project manager, to say he is great at his job would be understating it. He managed everything: from the big structural work to the most minute details of the project. He also did a lot of the work himself. Outside of answering his questions when our input was needed, we didn't have to worry about a thing. It was obvious from the first couple of weeks that we could leave the project in his hands. Liam was just as impressive, he clearly holds himself to a really high standard when it comes to the quality of his work. We were really impressed by Liam's attention to detail. I overheard his workmanship highly praised by more than one of the Frontiers trade partners. Not only did we live through the renovation but we also both work from home. I believe it would have been unbearable had we not had the quality of crew that we did. Everyone who entered our home, be it Frontiers or their trade partners, was very respectful, smart, kind, and very good at what they did. As an added bonus, they were also really fun! Everyone was very respectful of the fact that we were living in the house: they kept the job site clean and they tried to minimize disruption to our lives as much as possible. When you tell people you're undergoing a renovation, you often end up hearing contractor horror stories from the other side. Those conversations were always very awkward for us because all we could say was "I'm sorry to hear that, our renovation is going great and we have only good things to say about our construction crew". Morale of the story: You want to have a smooth renovation/construction project: hire this company.

We renovated most of our 4,600 square foot home. We removed some walls, reconfigured our stair case, gutted our kitchen and using James and his team was the best choice. We hired Frontiers design and build because our son was so pleased with their work on his main floor. Our project was a complete basement renovation and we were not disappointed at the final result. The various contractors were extremely professional, polite and informative. Always had time to explain what was going on. And always cleaned up at the end of the day!

This is the second time we hired Frontiers to do work for us. They completely renovated our main bathroom, added an upstairs laundry and updated the trim throughout the main floor and our upstairs common areas. James and team are extremely professional. The work site is kept very clean and the quality of the work is to notch. The job was completed within the time frame committed and the price matched the original estimate. james I was always quick to get back to me on any questions and was a pleasure to work with. At the onset of our project, we were committed to finding the best possible contractor to do the work. After much research, we came across Frontiers and met with James Savoie. We were very impressed with James' ability to take our initial vision and turn it into a 3D design, from which we were able to understand the feel of the final spaces and make very specific, detailed decisions. This careful planning and collaborative process definitely paid dividends when construction began. The work was completed to the highest standard and the impact of construction in our house was kept to a minimum. Floors were covered and areas of the house being worked on were well covered with plastic. All work areas were cleaned at the end of each day. The careful attention to detail we experienced through the initial design phase was carried out through each following phase of the project, including the work behind the walls which cannot be seen. The completed project has exceeded our expectations on every level. Knowledgable, professional, upfront, honest, on-budget, well-organized, very tidy and absolute perfectionists. We cannot say enough about the great experience we had working with Frontiers and recommend them to anyone looking to complete a renovation.

Choosing the right contractor can be a really difficult decision. After all, there are so many people that you can find through referrals and/or the Internet. I guess you could say that we had a lot of options open to us. What made the difference, and made me feel comfortable going with Frontiers, was meeting James and seeing this honest look in his eyes; he has honest honest eyes and I instinctively felt I could trust him. I’m glad I trusted my instinct. He did the most amazing work, and I’m not just referring to the end product. James and his crew were respectful, professional, organized and worked seamlessly from one trade to another, always cleaning up after themselves on a daily basis. I can’t begin to tell you how important this was. We were still living in our house while the renovation was taking place. It was really hard for me to watch my house getting gutted and the mess that follows such a job, BUT James cleaned up after his workers EVERY day. This eliminated so much stress and helped me greatly, going through this process. He very carefully prepped the house with protective plastic to contain the mess and dust but on top of this, he kept the areas he was working on, clean. I’ve never seen such an attentive contractor. It truly was a gift to me to walk through a clean construction zone every morning and every night and not be overwhelmed with construction clutter and mess. Another quality that James possesses, which is valuable for anyone to consider when seeking out the “right” contractor, is his ability to deal with problems when they arise. We had a very unfortunate set back that James discovered when he tore down a wall in order to put a new engineered support beam in. There had a been a water leak for over a decade that had secretly been decaying the original framework and support beams. A problem like this is nerve-wrecking for many reasons, but James was so matter-of-fact about how he was going to handle it. His confidence kept me calm. The bottom line was that I trusted him. He uncovered a devastating problem but how he handled it was swift, effective and thorough . I never worried about any major or minor issues because James had proven himself time and time again to be a true expert in his field. Now that all is said and done, I have my dream house. James aligned me with right people to give me the design advice that I needed all throughout the process. When I wake up in the morning, I still have to give myself a pinch. The renovation turned out better than I could ever have possibly imagined. I have other projects that I need to handle, and with confidence I will use the man with honest eyes and his incredible team.

We hired James and his crew to complete our full home renovation - and we are extremely happy! The quality of their work is exceptional. The project started with 3D drawings that made it so much easier to see the changes that we were making. James listened to our ideas but also incorporated some of his own suggestions to make our project perfect! We moved out of our home to complete this 6 month renovation. We were able to move back home on the exact day that was promised - no delays at all. During the renovation, communication was outstanding. James and his crew were everything I could have hoped for and more. From the very beginning of the 4 month project, James provided first class project management and design services. From the 3D renderings to new and innovative touches like the integrated air returns and floor vents, the entire project was seamless and top notch. The best part, other then the end result, was that I felt as though my project was the most important project they had on the go. The final result was everything I could have hoped for. I was left with a dream home!

James and his team did extensive work for us. Outdoor deck/cedar work along with garden work. They built a new stone fireplace in our great room and completely renovated the basement adding two bedrooms, family room bathroom and gym. Their work was exceptional in all areas of the house. James helped in design, product selection and sources of supply. His team was terrific, very talented and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Frontier for any renovation or landscape project. I will definitely use them again.

James and his team are very professional, tidy and take great pride in the work they do. James helped us stay on budget and finish early. The quote we got from James was on par with two others we got but our expectations were exceeded. They are very skilled at trim work that now impresses all of our guests. He’s great at looking for solutions for any concern we had and trying new products such as the Aria vents. Love them! We are extremely happy with their workmanship and our kitchen renovation!
