Founded in 1933, NELMA (Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association) is the rules writing agency for Eastern White Pine lumber, the export wood packaging certification leader, and the marketing voice and steward of the lumber industry located in the Northeast quadrant of the United States, from New England across to the Great Lakes. NELMA is also the grading authority for the Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPFs) species grouping, and other commercially important eastern softwood lumber species.
