Founded in 2002, we are a residential building design firm serving the San Francisco Bay Area. We undertake residential projects ranging from interior remodels to additions to new construction. Regardless of the size or scope of the project, Hyland Design Group delivers an exceptionally smooth design process that exceeds our client’s expectations. The end result is a home that responds to its owner’s needs and desires and is reflected by its timeless design and natural flow. Throughout the years, our firm has expanded to include professionals with myriad skills and talents that enable us to provide a wide variety of design, draft, and coordination services. We are still a small but nimble team of expert listeners, creative innovators, direct communicators, and experienced managers. Collectively, we have over 70 years of diverse design, draft, and management experience.

My wife and I worked with HDG on the architectural design of our new construction home in San Carlos, CA. They were truly a pleasure to work with. During the design phase, they worked fast and were collaborative—always improving on our ideas and suggestions. They were responsive in answering or returning our calls and promptly delivering required prints and materials—they were always helpful throughout the process. When we finally got to the city’s design review—we were approved with no changes—which is not how the other projects being reviewed went, yet another testament to HDG’s work. HDG is a great team and we truly love how our home turned out. We highly recommend them for your project.

I can't say enough good things about Natalie and her crew. She is one of a kind, a true artist. Natalie is incredibly perceptive and knows how to make your visions a reality. Her unique perspective and sophisticated yet cool demeanor is always on point. She will spark your interest from the moment she enters the room and she'll leave you feeling bright with an excitement of possibilities. She is by far one of the best designers I have ever met.

Natalie and her team designed and held our hand through our remodel project - we added a second floor and moved around some existing walls on the 1st floor. She was a pleasure to work with and had great design ideas.

With their great eye for detail and their pulse on the up-coming designs and architecture it makes the whole process enjoyable and exciting. Hyland Design Group will hold your hand through the process. If you need something answered they will have it to you or your team of contractors quickly. Our family has done a few projects with Hyland Design Group and have been more than happy every time.

We worked with Natalie at Hyland Design Group in the complete remodel of our home. She was such a pleasure to work with. She drew up a beautiful design. But beyond that, she took our opinion into account and LISTENED to what our needs and wants were. She made prompt modifications. She is well versed in San Carlos city regulations. She continued to make herself available when we had questions. We would hire her all over again!

After much deliberation we selected Natalie to assist us with a 400 SF addition and complete gut to stud remodel of our 1950's house in Belmont. Natalie had great ideas and was able to really inspire the project to completion. Note: we didn't have a single plan check comment which is extremely unusual in the City of Belmont. We would hire her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her services to those looking to remodel and ground up on the peninsula.

I had the pleasure of working with Natalie, the architect, principal and designer /architect of Hyland Design Group. She was professional at every level, prompt for appointments, and above all, designed a beautiful home for us . I cannot tell you the compliments we have received from so many people on the design and layout. I think what I liked most about Natalie is that she listens to what her client wants and does her best to achieve the desired style and design her client is seeking. She has been in the business for years, so she is highy experienced. Another huge plus is that we has an excellent reputation with the building departments in San Carlos and many of te surrounding cities. Natalie comes chalked with wonderful ideas, and the patience to work with even the most challenginbof clients. I highly recommend her!!
