Professional from start to finish; listened to my aspirations and thoughts for the garden, mindful of my budget, arrived at a design that fits the space and user perfectly! Helen's knowledge of plants and associated design solutions has created a new 'room' in my house that I'll be spending a lot more time in.

A great experience from start to finish. Ian produced five possible plans after measuring up the garden. Having chosen one as a starting point, he was receptive to changes we wished to implement, simultaneously giving advice from his own expertise. He liaised with the builders throughout, helping us feel that there was a team working together towards the end result. Ian Campbell of Helen Taylor Landscapes redesigned the front garden of our Victorian House in Ilkley. With some relatively minor changes, this area has been transformed. There is much more light entering the space, allowing plants to flourish, and a new seating area in a previously unused and unloved area of the garden. Myself and my husband have planted the area ourselves, and as a result have renewed our love for gardening.

Helen took time to understand our requirements and worked up several different alternative designs. Although professional, she has a very relaxed approach with clients and our meetings were always very friendly and productive. The garden is exactly what we wanted, it looks great

We moved into a new build property a year ago faced with a dilemma about how to transform our small back garden. The area was neither flat nor steep; an unattractive uneven gradient filled with a mountain of weeds with the added complication of being shaded by trees. We turned to Helen for help ... and what a transformation. From our very first meeting Helen understood what we wanted to achieve, the difficulties with the land, our vision to create a garden that would look superb for years to come but within our budget. Helen invited us to see other gardens she has designed in the local area, which came in all shapes, sizes and budgets. It was a fantastic day and gave us lots to think about. Helen's ideas, the amount of effort she puts into every single detail, her design creativity and rightly challenging some of our outdated ideas, have given us a fantastic garden which has far exceeded our expectations. As our work progressed it was also helpful to go to the plant nursery with Helen, this gave us a wider range of plants to choose from. We made some design changes to our garden along the way, all suggested by Helen to make it look better as the garden took shape, nothing was a problem. We realised even at that early stage, how lucky we were to find Helen, her dedication and passion for her work is first class. What sets Helen apart from others is her care in ensuring her clients are at the heart of her work - which is a rare quality today. As part of working with Helen she introduced us to Tom Livesley and his team at TEL Landscape Architects who were outstanding at what they have achieved for us. In summary we have had an outstanding experience with Helen and we have a superb garden that we love and look forward to enjoying through this autumn and beyond.

I contacted Helen when I had finally decided to go ahead with redesigning my rear garden. Helen visited me and I was impressed with both her professional knowledge and relaxed approach whilst discussing her ideas. I am pleased to say that Helen listened to my ideas and made a number of suggestions which really did link everything together. We have just come to the end of a most enjoyable garden project working with Helen on the partial redesign of our smallish village garden. She listened very carefully to our initial brief and clearly laid out the options for us in how to take the project forward, including advice on planning, the construction of a new stone wall and parking area, and various tree-related issues. After a brain-storming session, Helen drew up a detailed, creative plan for our contractors, who found it easy to work from. The initial hard landscaping having been done, Helen returned to draw up a planting plan, giving us the chance to draw on her wealth of knowledge. I went with her to the nursery to finalise the actual plant choice and Helen brought extra help with her for a long but fun day planting out. The garden looks fab and we are very pleased.

I bought a house for its good-sized garden and I knew what I wanted but I had no idea of how to go about designing it and making it look good. Helen and Rachel were very practical and helpful in suggestions and came up with a beautiful design for an edible garden. They really listened to my wishes and I'm delighted with the design for a garden that will be both edible and visually very enjoyable.

Ian Campbell of Helen Taylor Landscape and Garden Design undertook two projects for me. In 2015 he designed a paved area to create a seating area in the sun in my back garden. In 2016 I had the entire front garden redesigned to create my vision of a geometric Dutch garden with pleached hornbeam trees, low box hedging and lavender plants. Ian did a fantastic job in translating my ideas into drawings and suggesting materials and plantings. He subsequently organized and oversaw all the tendering and subsequent works, making the entire process very trouble free for me. I am delighted with the results and receive frequent positive comments from passers-by as the garden is so unusual. The bees meanwhile are delighted with the lavender!

We moved to provide a garden for our kids, so now have space but the current garden is overgrown and has an old fashioned layout. Helen and Ian saw beyond what is already there and showed us so many brilliant options that really opened up our eyes to the potential. I can't wait until we can move forward to building the new garden and look forward to working with Helen to see the project to completion.

I am one delighted customer, once my garden consisted of a soggy wet lawn and a dilapidated shed, it has now been transformed into a delightful garden. Helen worked with me and made sure that I had the garden I wanted. My garden was not the usual square or oblong as it had a dogleg to one side.
