Fresh Eyes

I had two small projects, the kind that you think about but never seem to get around to: Our 20 year old kitchen chairs were dirty and worn and I wanted new draperies for the bedroom. Well, thankfully I stumbled onto Scherrie's Houzz webpage. First I showed Scherrie my sorry looking chairs and she promptly set about finding fabric samples, which meant that I didn't have to. Out of the choices she gave me I found a great pattern, something a bit different than I would have thought would work in the kitchen. Scherrie got the upholsterer to pick up the chairs and a few weeks later my kitchen was looking a lot better. In the meantime, Scherrie actually drove me to the store to find the right drapes and, importantly, drapery hardware. Then she contacted her contractor and within days I had a new bedroom look. Scherrie was knowledgeable, easy to work with, and she got everything done in record time. I will definitely call Scherrie again for any other projects, small or large, that come up in the future. nae

Scherrie did a great job hiring a contractor and designing removal of old title in bathroom and replacing with new title. We couldn’t do the whole bathroom as that would be a major redo but needed area around tub redone due to loose title. She organized everything and even managed to have job finished a day early!! It was a real joy to have her plan how to match new title to old and to buy everything to complete the project!

Scherrie was invaluable to me when I finally undertook my long-delayed but much-needed remodeling project in late 2020. She spotted things I'd been looking at for years but never truly saw. Her fresh ideas, knowledge and energy empowered me to make the changes I've been thinking about for ages but, for some reason, was too intimidated to begin. She never dictated but instead suggested alterations and approaches that she knew would work with my personal style. All this, plus she is a super-nice person, reliable and fun to work with. I cannot recommend Scherrie Goettsch and Fresh Eyes highly enough.

Fresh eyes is a great name for what Sherrie does. I had four chairs that needed to be recovered and was at a loss. I tended to look at fabric that was similar to what I was replacing. Scherrie helped us select fabric that I would never have picked out on my own but it all looks fabulous. She has quite an artistic eye and a knack for knowing what will look good with existing furniture. I love looking at my "new" furniture. Thanks, Scherrie!

Scherrie Goettsch is a design genius and the hardest working woman I know! For the last ten years, she has hung and staged artwork in our home and offices. After our recent move to NC, she did it once more, putting everything together – on the walls and in the rooms – to make our new house feel like home. And then she did it again in the small apartment we are keeping in MO. I’ve never seen anything like the vision she provides with her “fresh eyes.” Thank you, Scherrie!

I have bee working with Scherrie to update kitchen, bathroom and living area. I wanted to work within a limited budget, and I am very pleased with the results. She provided suggestions that never would have occurred to me within our lifestyle. Definitely have enjoyed working with her.

Scherrie did an excellent job of walking us through an update to our 60-year-old home. With her help we installed new windows, flooring, lighting, counter tops and re-configured our existing cabinets. The latter saved us money while looking great with the new features. Two things we especially liked about working with Scherrie were that she listened to us before making suggestions/recommendations, and her network of contacts that proved to be very good at what they did for us. We'd highly recommend her.

With Scherrie's encouragement, I finally began my kitchen project. She walked me through the process and helped me make lots of big decisions along the way. My kitchen had to "fit in" to my early-80's house and yet look fresh and new. This was accomplished and I am very pleased with the cabinet choice, countertops, lighting and the paint colors. It was helpful having a decorator who was outside of the remodeling team so I had another perspective to consult when making choices. Through her many years of experience, Scherrie knows what makes a kitchen work. The results are beautiful and the space is a joy. Thanks, Scherrie!

Scherrie at Fresh Eyes was able to help me select new furniture appropriate for my new more formal family room but that still worked for my family. Now that it is time to sell our home, I have appreciated her helpful ideas (and muscle!) in rearranging furniture and arranging and making some welcoming decor to catch a buyer's eye.

I consider myself mentally challenged when it comes to decorating. I'll find something I like and then I'll doubt myself. Is that really the right color? Would that go with my curtains? Could "rustic" blend with "asian"? Scherrie Goettsch to the rescue! Scherrie recently gave my living room a much needed facelift. We picked out new hickory wood floors, a marble fireplace surround, and furniture. She advised me to install an electrical plug in the floor--very practical. She also picked paint colors for the walls, baseboards and mantel. A new area rug (zebra! so pretty!), mirrors, and mother of pearl table lamps completed the project. The update is spectacular! The 25 year old color scheme of burgundy, forest green and khaki is gone--replaced by fresh cream and greige. I would recommend Scherrie to anyone who wants to update their home. I will definitely hire her again.

My painting company, Garrett Painting, has worked with Scherrie on 2 large projects. One was a whole house interior repaint and one was a whole house exterior repaint. I was impressed with her color selections and eye for detail. She was a total professional, and both clients were very happy with the finished results. I look forward to working with her on future projects.

I have used Fresh Eyes to help me stage two houses for sale-one in urban Minneapolis and one in Rolla, MO. Both houses sold quickly and for more than the asking price because of Scherrie's knack for enhancing the selling features. After both houses sold, I called Fresh Eyes back to help me settle in to my new places. Nobody can organize kitchen cupboards and furniture placement so efficiently and functionally Feng Shui as Scherrie! Whenever I get a new piece of art I call her for a consultation and artistic advice. She has not steered me wrong. She knows my style and compliments my stuff with unique pairings that I would never have come up with on my own but when she is done it feels comfortable and personal. I would highly recommend Fresh Eyes.
