Really good service from Beth at Fresh Start Living. I only have a small flat but I didn’t know where to start in terms of making the most of the space.Beth was great. She really listened to our needs, made suggestions that we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves and worked really hard to source the right products for us. She was sensitive when it came to budgets and timescales - didn’t try to push us into anything at all . Would absolutely recommend and use again.

Fresh start living did a wonderful job. Designer and Project Manager Beth has an excellent approach to consultation, giving every opportunity for client input whilst having a strong vision for options available. We met a number of times before moving ahead. The project took one of my living rooms completely back to bare walls. All furniture etc was removed. There was electrical, plumbing and decorating work. Beth advised on colour pallet, materials, lighting, furniture and artwork. She procured all materials, furniture and artworks. She was a constant presence, getting hands on as well. Her team of tradesmen were on time, cheerful and their work was top quality. The project was projected to finish before second week in December and it did! I’m delighted with the outcome. Visitors comment on the complete transformation and how good it looks!

Really great design firm. I had never had any design work done previously and was a little apprehensive at first paying money for something which I didn't really know what I would end up with. I raised this reluctance with Jon first of all and he worked with my to come up with a more tailored project plan more suitable to my budget and to reflect the fact that I did not know fully what I actually wanted. Beth then attended my property and spent a few hours with me going through lots of ideas and ultimately I was provided with a great report outlining everything that we discussed and giving me links to various example products, paints, curtains, chairs etc. I was really happy with the results. Some of the art work suggested was a little abstract for my taste but Beth was more than happy to work with me to find more suitable alternatives. Very pleased and would 100% use again.

We had recently moved house and wanted to renovate our entire downstairs - I didn't know where to start so I made contact with Beth & Jon at Fresh Start Living who were an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. They were true professionals and took the time to work out the right look and feel for us before engaging us fully in the planning and implementation stages. Some of the suggestions they made, such as converting a cupboard to a pantry and pocket fold doors, were ones we would never have thought of ourselves and have been amazing additions! The tradespeople they use are amongst the best I've ever come across - hard working, neat and tidy and of a high standard. Whilst hiring interior designers can seem excessive, I believe we actually saved money due to them planning and keeping to a budget (which I may not have managed on my own!!), making money-saving recommendations along the way and having access to their industry discounts. Fresh Start Living (Beth & Jon Miller) transformed our home into a light, airy space. They oversaw the whole project, from appointing and liaising with the architect, submitting planning applications, putting the construction out for tender, project-managing throughout, and working with us on all aspects of interior design. Through them, we were able to take advantage of various trade discounts for the most substantial purchases, not least kitchen and bathrooms. Not only has the added extension, outwards and upwards, provided us with exactly the additional space we were seeking, in a rather ingenious and creative way, but the interior design offers a fabulous sense of flow throughout the home. We are totally delighted with Fresh Start Living, their innovative approach, and consequently we highly recommend them.

We simply could not have completed our project without them! As a team, Jon and Beth work brilliantly together - they think of everything and are excellent at working with you to explore what you want to help make your home better than you could ever have envisaged. The complete service that they provide means that they can guide you through the project from initial mood boards to final implementation completed by a team of trusted and fantastic builders and decorators. Utilising their support throughout our project was the best decision we made and something that we will be thankful for for years to come as we enjoy the spaces that they helped to create.

We asked Beth and Jon to help us redesign our two living rooms (one of which we rarely used) and, in particular, to bring some colour into our décor as we hadn’t the confidence to move away from neutral shades. From the start we were confident that they were listening to us and getting a good idea of what we liked and what we might consider. They also challenged us to be bolder about some of our choices and were able to put us in contact with a very good builder, suppliers and furniture makers we would never have found ourselves. It turned out to be a big project but we are delighted with the outcome. Both rooms have their own character and we are now getting the benefit of using both equally. We’ve also had very positive feedback from friends and family about our new look. We would recommend Beth and Jon. They don’t have pre-conceived ideas about how a home should look and are flexible in their approach but also strong enough to stand by their designs. Overall, we followed their advice, even though we sometimes had misgivings, and we don’t regret that as they were right!

I have worked with Fresh Start Living on two projects now - testament to our extremely positive experience the first time around! Beth and Jon helped first on our master bedroom and en-suite and subsequently our kitchen, where they have both designed the layout and the ‘look and feel’ of the rooms. As these were our first significant projects, I started out feeling very overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start with piecing everything together. There seemed to be so many decisions to make and everything was taking a lot of time to research (especially when we had little idea of where to start looking). What’s more, we were investing a lot into the work so wanted to make sure it actually looked good at the end. This is where Beth and Jon really helped us out. There were many positives to the experience: - Great designs that challenged our pre-conceived ideas. Working with Beth and Jon means we now have a much more interesting house with many features that we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves. Had we not worked with them, we would have likely defaulted to ‘what we knew’ and ended up with something a lot less inspired - Responsiveness to queries and ideas. For example, if I had a question on what rug would look good in a certain room, they were able to quickly get back with suggestions (they must have a an encyclopaedic knowledge of the internet and where to source items!). Similarly, they provided helpful advice on thing like structural issues and party wall agreements, which was very helpful for us navigating this all for the first time - Patience with iteration - they understood that things sometimes take time to evolve and were always willing to explore different options with us. Great for someone like me who can be very indecisive - Simplifying the whole process - I think this was one of the biggest positives, especially as I was quite busy at the time of the work. They provided a set of documents (a pdf/ppt, and an excel spreadsheet with details of everything I needed to buy and where I could source it) for each room. I was able to use this to brief the builders, and to make the purchasing of items a whole lot easier. I could refer back to these at any point during the work, which helped me feel a bit more in control (when everything with the actual builders got a bit overwhelming!!) I would have no hesitation in recommending Fresh Start Living, especially if you are looking to be inspired and to take some of the weight off your own shoulders when conducting work!

I cannot recommend Beth and Jon at Fresh Start highly enough. They have made what could have been an extremely stressful, complicated project both stress free and exciting. From our initial Zoom meeting I had a strong feeling they were exactly what we needed. My husband and I are busy people, both working and studying at the moment, whilst also managing 3 small children and a dog. We knew we didn’t have the time, or let’s be honest the imaginations to come up with the right design for our rear ground floor extension. From our first meeting I felt they asked all the right questions to get from us what we wanted from the project and our new space. They have been transparent about their fees and I believe have gone above and beyond for us, always answering questions in a timely manner, sourcing items and coming up with alternatives. They have helped us to make bold choices that we are excited about and confident with, something I know we would have struggled with if left to our own devices. The level of attention to detail has been exceptional, with careful consideration of the smaller details given the same importance as some of the bigger decisions. We have loved working with them so much that we have already commissioned them to do another room in our house. And hope to use them again when tackling upstairs..! I have been verbally recommending them to friends and family that are contemplating doing any work on their house as the time and money (and arguments!) they have saved us has been invaluable.

Beth asked lots of questions to establish exactly what we were looking for from each room; and the designs she produced took all of that into account. She was perceptive at understanding & working with our style preferences. With her help we’ve been able to make choices that are bolder and better than we would ever have considered or even thought of without her. Beth project managed the implementation for us, too. The quality of the work carried out by the people she recommended was superb. In summary we have no hesitation in recommending Fresh Start Living to others. The quality, service and most importantly the end results have been absolutely worth the investment for us; and we would definitely go back to Beth for future projects.

Beth and Jon have helped us design a number of rooms in our new house (bedrooms kids and adults/basement conversion/ office). They think about how you will use a space and their ideas are creative and practical. I have absolutely loved the experience of working with them receiving the designs and then the shopping list is honestly one of the most satisfying fun things ever. Following our initial consultation, Beth produced a detailed and comprehensive list of suggestions for both the design element and the items that we would need to purchase which made the process very straight-forward. Our queries were responded to promptly and the overall cost of the project was in line with the budget that we shared with Beth at the outset. Fresh Start Living have recently helped us to enhance an existing lost conversion and we are delighted with the results. We wanted to transform what was a little used spare bedroom and unused separate bathroom (with no natural light) into a master bedroom with en suite. We knew we needed to add a dormer to improve the head height, and had some ideas about how we wanted it, but Jon and Beth took those basics and helped us at every stage from considering floor plan options, creating a specification and seeking the right builders, through to the interior design and product sourcing. Throughout the process I really felt like they listened and understood what we needed from the space, and when it came to the design and finishing, really seemed to get our tastes. I love everything about the products and colour scheme Beth came up with and really love the finished rooms. Although it is 100% to my taste, I wouldn't have been able to come up with it myself, and might not have been bold enough to choose some of the colours without the encouragement - I am so grateful! Finally, I also felt they took a lot of the stress and uncertainty out of doing the work - particularly because of the assistance with selecting a builder and the product sourcing. Regarding the products, Beth guided me on timings to ensure we were always prepared, and I also felt I actually had a full handle on what all the finishing would cost, which is something I have struggled with on previous home improvements. I want to say a huge thank you - we absolutely love the space now and if I could I would have Fresh Start Living reimagine the whole house! Will certainly be in touch again the next time we do some work.

Beth & Jon were absolutely wonderful to work with to plan our new kitchen. They offered a wide menu of services, including full interior design, product sourcing and project management, but were really happy to support us with a smaller-scale project of designing the layout of our new kitchen. They were really efficient, and extremely patient with us when we came back several times requesting changes in the layout! In the end they have created a great flow for the kitchen that accommodated our heritage furniture, idiosyncratic Victorian house, our own taste and the needs of our young family. A big ask, but brilliantly done. The plans were so clear and detailed that the trades can work straight from them As the icing on the cake, they put us in contact with our reliable builder and kitchen designer, making the whole process of planning our kitchen refurb much more swift and efficient than it could have been at a time when everyone was booked up. We were looking for assistance with reconfiguring the downstairs layout and after googling interior designers, found the lovely Jon and Beth who were just down the road! We approached FSL after the planned layout for our extension wasn’t working for us both (we had used an architect to get planning permission). Jon & Beth redesigned the whole downstairs, and garden too (as we planned to knock down a garage to create a garden), giving us 4 options to consider. The end result is a living space that works so well for our family, and they saved us money by dropping some unnecessary features. They designed the electrical & plumbing plans, so decisions were made early rather than halfway through the project. We also used FSL for help with the interior design- Beth perfectly merged my love of colour & pattern but toned it down enough for my husband to live with, and we’re both so happy with the finish. By starting with the interior design details eg where sofas will go, the rest of the design & electrics are decided before you start. A global pandemic, & being pregnant meant I couldn’t visit the site so we used FSL for project management too. Working remotely, choosing kitchens without seeing the showroom, were all big challenges but with their help we felt confident in our decisions. They haven’t seen the finish due to lockdown and we can’t wait for them to see the end result.

We had a vague idea of how we wanted to re-model our house but didn’t really know where to start. We had three small, dark rooms running along the back of our house, the kitchen, family and dining rooms. Jon and Beth listened to our wish list and created a design to completely open up the back of the house. As well as knocking through, new glazing has given us better views and access to the garden and much more light. The new design moved the kitchen form one side of the house to the other, something we would not have thought of. The new design has completely changed the way we live in our home, changing it from cramped and dark to light and spacious. We love it and have no hesitation in recommending Jon and Beth.

I've used Fresh Start Living for my basement renovation, and I've found them friendly and approachable, very helpful and overall a great company. Highly recommended for design ideas on home refurbishments and re-decorating. We needed help with ideas for re-decorating our living space. We needed advice on structural as well as decorating from knocking down walls to make open plan living to paint colour. Jon was able to provide a personal, yet professional service. He spent a lot of time listening to our particular needs and was able to offer just the right kind of support and guidance that we needed. Jon and Beth worked closely with us on a project to convert a former garage/storage space/utility room into a bedroom and accessible bathroom, whilst creating a combined laundry room and office space in an existing room. We’d recently completed renovations on our house and wanted to add some ‘wow factor’ and interest to the interior decor. We know what we like and don’t like but needed some help to pull our many ideas together. Beth helped us to narrow down our ideas and pulled together amazing schemes for our lounge dining space, our hallway and entrance lobby and our teenage sons bedroom. Beth came up with Lots of options for style, paint, furnishings and lighting and we worked together to pull together a final scheme that we then went on to bring to life. Beth is a really great and easy to work with. She listened to us and was approachable and available when we needed her. I had no idea what I wanted when I first contacted Beth & Jon. However after the first meeting with them, things became a lot clearer, and I got a much better feeling for both how long things might take, and how much they might cost. This was really useful in deciding next steps. Not only that, their breadth and depth of knowledge of where and when to buy things has helped me make significant savings. Even as a smaller client there was a really personal touch and they are extremely responsive, absolutely fantastic service.

When we first spoke to Beth and Jon, we wanted to decorate and modernise our dining room/snug. After seeing the layout and understanding what we wanted from the space, they suggested not just stripping the old wallpaper and giving it a coat of paint, but to knock down a wall to open it up to the kitchen to make an open plan living area. Olwen, initially, was not persuaded as she thought it meant losing kitchen space. The deciding factor was when they had the vision to open up the kitchen into the utility and add bifold doors opening into our outside seating area. Olwen then agreed to the wall coming down and we could both see that this would make a massive and remarkable difference to our dining/kitchen/snug/utility area. In order to accomplish this, it meant knocking down four walls, creating a new utility in the garage and investing in a new kitchen. We were really excited with how our new living area could look and started looking into the cost of achieving this. Jon assisted with the kitchen design, prepared a 3D design and also prepared a mood board so that we could visualise how it would look. As Dei is a builder, he would be able to carry out most of the building works himself with the biggest cost being a new kitchen. After deciding on a kitchen and colour scheme, choosing flooring, lighting, radiators etc. we completed the work in October last year. The finishing touches are now complete and we are more than happy with our new living area. We are so grateful to Beth and Jon for their vision, advice and guidance over the last 12 months. We wish Fresh Start Living all the best in 2020!

My wife and I bought a house in need of renovation but did not know where to start; particularly with regards to the structural design and layout of the house, the work entailed in renovating and extending a property and being able to put that work out to tender to multiple contractors in a language and format that would enable builders to give accurate quotes. FSL discussed with us what we wanted from the property, designed 3 layouts to meet our needs (2D and 3D images) and we then chose one and worked together to tweak to our liking. FSL then created plumbing and electrical maps and provided us with estimate costings before sending the work out to tender. FSL also negotiated down the tender price and had some additional aspects included for free. Having spent months on our own making very little progress, FSL were able to provide us with the creativity, planning, contacts and time that we lacked. Highly recommend.

The thought of renovating my house was extremely daunting and I didn’t know where to start - Beth and Jon’s help was invaluable! Jon was incredibly helpful with our bedroom redesign. I wasnt really sure what to expect with the process or what sort of things we needed to tell someone so they could understand our thoughts. Everything was pretty painless and we now have a firm plan of not just what we think needs to happen next but what needs to be bought, where, how much, and which trades people can help. Basically thats exactly what I wished for.

Beth acted as a facilitator in my design decision making. I love looking at images of beautiful homes and although I am able to reproduce some of the ideas in my own home I get stuck on some details. Beth helped me push past this barrier and gave me the conviction to listen to my gut feeling. I certainly feel bolder and more confident with my design style now. Ours was not an easy brief - living room, dining room and kitchen - one of us loves trinkets and privacy, and the other space and light. We found Beth and Jon to be very accommodating. They took the time to visit our home and get to know us and our differing needs and ideas. We were very happy with the resulting plan - they found a way to make both of us very happy. (It’s also worth pointing out they highlighted items that could be bought at discount in the seemingly never ending sales that furniture and furnishing companies seem to hold. This alone has the potential to save you considerable amounts of money.) We found Freshstart to be very helpful every step of the way. The tradesmen were extremely professional and, given past experience, pretty amazing - asking questions and offering advice to ensure they were meeting our expectations. Very happy with the end result, and will definitely be using them again in the future.

After 3 years of not knowing where to start with our planned extension (and therefore 3 years of doing nothing) we decided it was time to call in the experts. Beth & Jon came up with some wonderful ideas and most importantly, made it possible for us to visualise the plans with their modelling tool. I found Fresh Start Living through a Facbook recommendation. We love our house but the previous owners built a slightly odd extension, that clearly worked for them but doesn't for us. We've lived in our house for a few years and the extension layout has bugged us but we didn't know how to fix it.
