Gardening By Design is a team who believes in thoughtfully constructing outdoor spaces through connection, creativity, and collaboration. Connection. For over 30 years this female-run company has been exploring and redefining what it means to feel a connection to natural environments. Their goal is to design horticultural areas that allow you to experience nature in a new way. They want you to feel an attachment to your outdoor spaces, and to have a spot to unwind and recharge. Creativity. The possibilities for landscape design are immeasurable. GBD knows this. At the core of their design initiative, is to create spaces using a fresh and innovative approach. They value infusing areas with a new energy while also being environmentally conscious—striving to make areas look as though they’ve been there forever. Collaboration. GBD takes a collaborative and open approach to all projects—aligning with their studio vibe. They believe this is key to guaranteeing the most satisfying results. We used Gardening by Design and Artistic Design Landscaping for our front yard landscaping project and we were very satisfied with the overall process and end result. Engelina worked with us to understand what we were looking for and came up with a design that aligned with our wants. She was very supportive in making adjustments as we finalized the design and was always very prompt and thorough in her follow-ups. The execution of the design went well and we had compliments from numerous neighbours on the end result. Thank you Engelina.

We started working with Engelina about 2 years ago on a full landscaping design of our home. It has been a great experience, and we are very happy with the design and the prices so far. She has really understood what we are looking for, and has made it so easy to go through the process. The installation of our first phase this past fall went so well, we did not have any issues or delays.

The Gardening By Design team did some on my new house. Mary-Anne was very helpful despite my vague requirements and her design team came up plenty of suggestions which I loved and they didn't break the bank. After I reviewed the final design, her team project managed the installation for me and everything was completed in approximately a week. The design fits in perfectly with the character of the house and the neighborhood. The colors are wonderful in the summer and fall. I'm a repeat customer of and if I purchase another house I would go with her team again.

Gardening By Design did a fantastic job of designing and transforming our back yard last fall. We had some hardscape done in the front yard as well, designed and completed by Gardening By Design. Engelina, our landscape designer, is very attentive to detail, demonstrates extensive knowledge of plants and hardscape materials, and displays unique design skills. She consults her landscape team as well as her clients on a regular basis in order to achieve beautiful results and satisfaction. We were kept informed every step of the way and our input and questions were welcomed. Any added costs were always discussed and explained fully before the additional work was undertaken. The finished product is absolutely gorgeous! We could never have achieved this on our own. We are looking forward to using our new space!
