Drapery Connection

We used them to make a plantation shutter to cover a front door. The work was poorly done. The quality of the workmanship was sub-par (mis-measurements; pieces that came unglued; and the shutters bounced on the frame when opening and closing the door. Their attempt to make good on the problems has been slip-shod and band-aid, at best, I would not recommend using them under any circumstances.

Everything went very well help with the picking out of my valances I was happy that I was made aware of how the process was going as I waited Installation went very well they did a nice job and if I decide I need more I will definitely come back

I have worked with Julie Massey from the Drapery Connection on multiple design projects that have included remote control window shades, custom roman shades, and custom draperies and sheers. Julie is fantastic to work with. She has always been very professional, communicative and friendly both with me and my design clients. She works within the client's budgets and is willing to suggest less expensive alternatives when needed. My clients and I are extremely pleased not only with Julie but with this company all around!

I collaborated with Kathy Salerno on window treatments while working on Interior Design projects. We worked well together, as she has a great sense of design and really listens to both designer and client to make the best choices for the homes we worked on. Kathy is very professional, but friendly and has a keen sense of clients taste, selection and budget. I would highly recommend Kathy for any Interior Design project!

Use this company if you have plenty of time on you hands and plenty of money to spend. Took three months to get draperies and the cost I felt was high though I was willing to pay for service we never received. I am sure there are equal to companies at lower prices. They use a sub contractor to install the product so there is not even an advantage to using them for that aspect of the sale.

It is a shame I have had to write this review, but I feel their service and communication is absolutely horrible. We have been going on 14 months for them to complete an order for one single shade. Yes, that's right, one shade. I was promised 2-3 weeks to complete - and it would be perfect. Their sales rep Julie answered my questions incorrectly, proven by the shade being the wrong size for the opening (even verified by their install crew prior to order), wrong cover, wrong motor, wrong brackets, installed it backwards per one installer...after approx. a dozen installation visits. I have to take off to be there each time which costs me money and of course time. It generates frustration and drama between my family and this company. On top of all this, they don't clean up after themselves - just their last visit and I had to specifically tell the installer. There was still mud on the floor upstairs and on the stairs so he didn't do a good job. This shade is 15 feet tall and covers a large window overlooking an open staircase that is two stories, so cleanup is not a 5 minute process. It is additional time from my day. To make matters worse, all this time they have been promising it will be done and demanding payment along the way. The shade currently makes noises. They acknowledged the noise is not normal, tried to fix it, didn't, and now say "nothing can be done". The price of this shade is thousands of dollars, not cheap. For all I know, they damaged the shade in the process of install/removal the multiple times they did this. For that kind of money they should make it right.

I was lucky enough to work with Julie Massey with Drapery Connection. She helped me coordinate the finishing touches in our home and offered suggestions through out the project. She quickly learned my sense of style and kept me on track with color choices and textures. We did automated blinds and window treatments in several of our rooms. It is one of my favorite features in the home! Her install team was also great. They spent days in our home putting in motorized blinds, hanging window treatments, etc. Trustworthy and Dependable People. After moving in, Julie continued to help me with bedding, linens, custom furniture pieces, pillows, cushions and other miscellaneous decor. Would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of her professional services.

I have worked with Julie for about 8 years. She and her company have done couches, window treatments, shades, DR chairs, wing chairs/4 etc. Julie is a pro....a problem solver who listens. She brings knowledge to the equation each time. The work is excellent though at times expensive...but worth it . She is always on time for appointments as is the delivery of the finished product. I have worked with Julie Massey for the past seven years on projects in several rooms in my home. I have found her professional yet friendly, creative and very patient as we have worked through some challenging window spaces together. I gave her a fabric swatch that I wanted to use in my kitchen, and she created a beautiful treatment for me—still one of my favorites. I wanted a valance for my son's room and she found custom hardware to work beautifully in the angled spaces there. Some of the projects involved working with sources outside the Drapery Connection showroom (Merchandise Mart, etc.) and she has always brought the project elements together to a beautiful completion.

I have enlisted in the help of Drapery Connection for several of my clients homes. I have worked closely with Mimi and Erin and both have been a pleasure to work with. Their knowledge of their products is superb and I know I can count on them to come out to my clients home or set up an appointment in the showroom. I have been very pleased and my clients are always happy which is most important to me!

I made my appointment two weeks out due to minimal availability for late appointments given my work schedule. I was interested in purchasing blinds for my new home as soon as possible and made that very clear. I was slated for a consultation on Wednesday, November 19th with Julie Massey. Oddly, Julie called me on Tuesday (11/18) to reschedule my appointment for that afternoon, which I could not accommodate due to work. It was not a huge deal; however, from this point forward I began to feel like she was doing me a favor and I was no longer the customer. On the day of our appointment, Wednesday (11/19), we had a brief consultation which was not a problem given that I knew exactly what I wanted, where, and in what color. After my consultation, the customer service and professionalism significantly declined. I reiterated I wanted my shades promptly and Julie stated she would provide me with an estimate the following day (11/20). Needless to say, I never received the estimate, so on Friday afternoon (11/21) I sent a follow-up email and did not receive a response. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and wrongfully assumed she became busy. I couldn’t help but feel that I was not being taken seriously and that my project was unimportant. On Monday (11/24) I called her cell phone, left a message, and was unable to reach her until I called the 1(800)245-7790 number to figure out what the problem was. Much to my surprise, Julie was in the office; I was put on hold only to be told she “couldn’t talk at the moment” but that I would receive my estimate soon. At this point, I was utterly disappointed and felt as if I was imploring for my shades. Later that afternoon, I received an estimate based on our consultation, and the lack of professionalism became even more apparent. It was evident no time nor effort was exerted despite the fact I had patiently waited days for an estimate. Julie did not even have the courtesy to apologize for her lack of timeliness and did not follow-up on my missed calls. At this point, I am insulted and feel it absolutely necessary to write this review. I will never recommend nor conduct business Drapery Connection in any capacity again.

I have been working with Carl, John, Mimi, and Suzette fro the past 8 years and they are true professionals. They care about the customer and go to great lengths to make their business a great model for designers and customers alike. They have designers that are passionate about what they do and it shows in their work. Carl and John have personally helped me grow my business as well and the have been instrumental in the success of our design business over the past 8 years.
