I have known both Darla and Natalie from the very start of Darla Powell Interiors, and I'm still in awe with how motivated and inspiring these two are from the beautiful designs to how personable they are with all of their clients. I can't wait to have their input after I purchase my new home!

Redesigning your home is a daunting task but when you find the right design team, everything falls into place. We knew from the first meeting that DPI was the right team for us. They spent time trying to understand our needs, our personality and design style, and the plan they developed exceeded our expectations. They took our basic ideas for our mid-century and injected the perfect amount of modern. Also, they found the right contractors and managed them for every aspect of the project so we didn’t have to. Darla and her team followed through on their commitments and ensured that our expectations were met at each phase of the project. Above all, Darla, Johanna and Nathalie are quality people and a joy to be around. We are already thinking about “phase 2” with DPI.

I spent two months looking for and interviewing various contractors to start much needed renovations to my midcentury home including removal of drop ceilings in the kitchen and master bath with placement of recessed lighting, new fans and recessed lighting on the patio, and new flooring in the longtime carpeted family room. I knew what I wanted everything to look like, so did not believe that I needed a design firm. However, I was unable to find the right contractor on my own; electrical contractors would not 'patch and paint' or even recommend someone who could. I finally found Darla Powell Interiors, who was able to translate my images into reality and then some, all completed within weeks of our first meeting. They matched me with the perfect contractor who not only did all of the electrical work with plaster repairs and painting, but provided a miraculous solution to an impossible flooring transition (dining room to family room) after DPI also found the perfect terrazzo restoration company to bring out the original beauty of the family room terrazzo floor! The money that I spent to hire DPI to find and coordinate contractors was definitely money well spent, and likely saved money (from avoiding contractor selection mistakes) in the long run. Darla and Natalie know all of the right professionals for any type of renovation in the South Florida area, and have an great reputation with them, which is important. Darla has a great eye for color and finish coordination. Natalie found a new range that met my specifications after I had given up hoping it even existed anymore, being present at the time of delivery and arranging for the contractor to cut the countertop perfectly and without damage, so that it would fit. Neighbors and friends who have come by after completion of phase 1 of my renovations have commented on how awesome everything looks. I plan to continue home renovations at some point after that holidays, and will definitely seek the knowledge and professionalism of these ladies again!

We are so thankful that we decided to work with the DPI team on our Florida room remodel. They were sensitive to our needs and budget and designed a fresh solution that made our clunky Florida room add-on actually look purposeful and very cool. Darla's experience in home theatre design were very helpful. Since they are all animal lovers they also understood our particular pet design challenge. We, our dog, and even the teenagers love love love our new space. The construction and paint/plaster professionals/artists were highly skilled and worth waiting for. The team also helped us choose colors for other areas of our home that were in desperate need of paint/ plaster repair and it looks great. Every project has its own particular challenges and we had a lot of questions and even last minute changes. The team was always very kind and responsive and worked with us to make us happy. Terrific experience from start to finish -- and fun to work with too!! We had/have a grand project that has been broken down into phases. The first phase is complete with dramatic results. Highly recommend this decorator and team. Tremendous follow through.

When we decided to remodel the kitchen and floor of our home, a main consideration was whether to work with an interior designer or not. The main reason was the budget. We had worked with an interior designer in the past and were familiar with the process. The key for us was to find someone that would understand the vision and concept of our plans and have the ability to integrate these plans with their professional expertise and resources. We liked Darla because she listened carefully and understood what we were trying to accomplish while being and personable and genuine. She was sensitive to our needs and was able to translate our ideas and budget into a realistic plan. The saying “you don’t know what you don’t know” describes what a person begins to realize when encountering the extent and complexity of an interior decorating project performed correctly. Murphy’s Law figures greatly in these situations also. We realized that having a person we could trust and depend on was key to the overall success. After lengthy discussions with Darla regarding everything involved in the project, we realized that Darla Powell Interiors was the one for us. Darla has excellent taste and resources. She knows where to find the right products and materials. She led us in new and different directions that provided beautiful solutions. The skilled workers and subcontractors she works with are first rate and artists at their craft. They are a pleasure to work with. Darla takes great care to select only the best. She has great rapport with them and they are very responsive to her. When issues and questions come up, as they always will in a job like this, Darla is very accessible and addresses them quickly and effectively. She becomes your ally, always checking with you to make sure you are happy and satisfied with the progress and the product as well as staying within budget. Anyone that has embarked on similar projects with contractors can attest to the need for a qualified professional when things don’t go as expected or proposed. As a business, Darla Powell Interiors is well organized and runs very efficiently. Her website provides a dashboard where you can easily review and pay open invoices and keep track of the expenses among other things. Overall we are extremely pleased with the service and expertise provided by Darla Powell Interiors. We would recommend Darla Powell without the slightest hesitation. The kitchen was totally transformed into a beautiful space, taking on the look of something 2-3 times the actual cost. The craftsmanship along with Darla’s choice of design, materials and color schemes are outstanding. The floor design and layout was also transformational giving the home a completely new and refreshing look. The porcelain wood like tile Darla helped pick required an excellent installer and she had just the right one. Everyone that has seen the floor has commented on the beauty of the shape and color, in addition to asking if it is real wood. Darla is a truly gifted interior designer who has helped us realize our aspirations and has exceeded all of our expectations while at the same time helping us stay on budget. We truly could not have accomplished this without Darla’s help. So in retrospect, we view the hiring of an interior designer such as DPI, an investment rather than an additional cost.

Can't say enough about Darla. From start to finish, her and her team are complete professionals who get even the smallest details correct. We remodeled our bathroom, and everything came out perfect. We were able to transform our bathroom from a partitioned mess of basic contractors items, to a wide-open plan (we had walls torn down, and can't even imagine how small our bathroom used to feel). Our bathroom was destroyed by a leak, and after the remediation company was done we were left with a wall-less room with nothing but studs. Darla was able to help us invision the beautiful bathroom we have now. Darla has a great sense of what designs are both in style, but will stand the test of time (so you aren't left with a home 10 years down the road with a bathroom which was contemporary 10 years ago, but is now out of style and is going to be a hastle to sell). Her use/knowledge of lighting and traditional materials makes a space feel so open and vibrant. Our bathroom could never had turned out the way it did without her team and inspiration. We can't thank her enough.

Darla has a unique and amazing gift when it comes to interior design. She has an incredible imagination with an impeccable eye for details. Very professional and a pleasure to work with.

Darla did a fantastic job on our master bedroom. She listened carefully to our ideas and brought them to fruition. She was very affordable and worked very hard to finish the project in time, in fact she was a day early. I am sure she will be hearing from the people I have given her information to, if she hasn't already.

I have had the pleasure of working with Darla interiors on numerous occasions. She is professional and her clients love the final product including clients who select different materials that isn't considered the norm. Darla interiors will take the risk to meet the needs or their look they are trying to achieve. The client gives all their trust but they always have a say as their home is being remodeled no matter how big or small the change.
