Owner Shannon Mery specializes in translating his clients’ lifestyles, expectations and tastes into sophisticated living spaces. Acting as a single point of contact, he provides highly customized interior and exterior design, as well as interior architectural services. Shannon believes that successful design starts with great listening skills. Over the years, he has designed townhouses, condominiums, apartments, office space and homes of all sizes, with projects ranging from single rooms to complete engagement in all aspects of a newly constructed house or extensive renovations. He has a sizeable network of artisans and professionals whom he calls upon to achieve his highly personalized designs and he is known for his bespoke fireplaces and staircases. He is committed to understanding his clients’ goals and is available for consultations, including weekends and evenings, in-person or via Skype.

I began renovating my condo. in the summer. The person I hired left me in such disarray. I didn't know where to turn. Then, a friend recommended Shannon Mery. First, he sat with me and listened to my vision for my condo. Then, he made my vision become a reality! The results far exceeded my expectations! His flawless service and dedicated work ethic are exemplary!

We couldn't be happier with our finished bathroom! Shannon was so helpful and was able to narrow down our choices and likes to come up with a final design that is not only functional, but gorgeous. We had a very small space to work with and Shannon was able to completely rework the room to accommodate all of our needs while making the space look larger than its actual size. I would recommend Denizen Design to anyone with a space and a dream- Shannon will bring it to life.

I hired Shannon Mery from Denizen Design to renovate my living room and childrens bathroom. Both rooms came out fabulous. Both projects came within my budget and on time. I found Shannon a pleasure to work with and would most definately work with him again. I recommeded Shannon to a friend who also worked with them on a much smaller scale, but also enjoyed his expertise in picking out fabrics and materials for bedroom.

We have been working with Denizen for four years. Our relationship began with a need for window treatments but quickly grew as we learned of Shannon's talent and his ability to recognize our personal taste and make suggestions accordingly. Shannon has become our "go to" person for all house projects since our first meeting. He has counseled us on everything from choosing paint colors, to designing two nurseries, to a custom 15 foot wall unit, to custom patio furniture to redoing our entire master suite; all results have been beyond our expectations. We are very pleased with all aspects of our relationship; Shannon is always responsive, available and goes above and beyond to ensure deadlines are met. His network of loyal professionals allows Shannon to implement his vision while still remaining in control and acting as the point person for his clients. In an age of get it done quickly, Shannon takes the time to meet with us face to face each and every time a decision needs to be made to ensure all aspects are identified and discussed. We have recommended him to friends and family - the ultimate compliment - and will continue to do so.

We hired Shannon for an extensive interior design project including custom furnishings, lighting, window treatments, paint color, accessories and wall coverings. He listened to our ideas and really helped in translating our vision into a beautiful and cohesive design. Shannon was an invaluable resource and his aesthetics were just exceptional! We had the pleasure of working with Denizen Design for the remodel of our master suite. We had ideas of our own which were conveyed to Shannon Mery. Thinking outside the box, Shannon was able to expand into the adjacent office closet space, master suite existing closet and sitting area in another room. In the end we had a large bathroom with double vanities and double shower, a new closet for the office, a new walk-in closet for the master suite, while keeping the bed placed to take full advantage of the water view which was enhanced by adding floor to ceiling windows on one wall and a set of French doors on the other. Shannon is very knowledgeable about design and his taste is impeccable. He is prompt, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Deadlines were either met on time or earlier than expected all while staying within budget. We will most definitely be working with Denizen Design again for our upcoming remodel as we were completely satisfied and he exceeded our expectations.

Shannon of Denizen Design....gave us a bathroom that our family and friends say "WOW, now this a beautiful bathroom". His vision and practicality to our needs was well thought out and he delivered a master piece! We couldn't be more happy with his inspiration and the attention to detail he gave to our project. Our kitchen is due for a makeover and without hesitation we have hired him to start in March.

Shannon (denizen) was instrumental in the design process of our mid-century home in Tampa Bay. He brought with him a great sense of style, great humor, and fresh ideas. He was a joy to deal with! He is a master at lighting. Shannon was also invaluable in helping us select finishes and in the design of our kitchen and baths (especially tile) and helped advised on our architectural plans. We highly recommend Shannon.
