Kelly and his team are incredibly professional and designed our new home from scratch. They were incredibly responsive to our feedback and successfully designed a house that met our criteria of functionality as well maximizing natural light and beauty overall. They also worked very well with our builder and our interior designer, creating the perfect team. We found the design and building process to enjoyable as a result and would work with Kelly and his team all over again!

Kelly and his team are absolutely phenomenal! My husband and I decided to go the custom design route for our new house and chose Kelly based on previous work we had liked. He did not disappoint. Kelly and his team really focused and listened to what we needed as a family with 3 small children. They brought us a unique floor plan that focused on balancing spaces that are both functional and distinctive, it truly feels like this home was meant for us. Kelly and team are the best and we highly recommend them. We engaged Kelly to help with a multi-phase remodel + extension of our 1930's house in Southampton. Prior to purchasing, Kelly walked the house with us and gave some initial impressions. We closed on the house and began working with Kelly and Luis on phase one of the remodel. The Cusimano team was incredibly creative and thought of a floorplan that we never imagined. Phase 1 is done and we're now living in the house. The Phase 1 living areas are thoughtfully planned and a highlight of our home - making us eager to begin the remaining phases. No doubt that we'll work with Cusimano on the future phases as well!

We can not recommend The Cusimano Architect firm highly enough! Our project was a 1920's home remodel with some very challenging structural obstacles to overcome. The staff exceeded our every expectation! It was our hope to maintain the quaintness and cozy feel of our bungalow, while also accommodating for the modern day needs of a family of 6. Kelly and team designed and helped build an amazing home for our family. The level of detail during both the design and construction phase allowed the builder to execute to a high level of precision. As it relates to the design, our home is extremely unique incorporating structure and material concepts not seen in our neighborhood. If we build another home we're using Kelly Cusimano.

We've seen numerous completed projects that had Cusimano Architect's fingerprints all over them. The attention to detail on every project is the reason we chose Cusimano Architect for our project (renovation and addition on a 1960's home). From our experience, if there is one word I would use to describe Kelly, it is "adaptable." As our plans evolved, the team at Cusimano Architect walked alongside us to ensure we would love the finished product, and they were honest enough to talk us out of our own bad ideas. I would highly recommend Cusimano Architect. We hired Kelly to design our Houston Heights area home on a small, unusually narrow lot. Our vision was something along the lines of a contemporary/modern brownstone with a front loading garage that would help maximize the outdoor spaces and yard. We also wanted to maximize the relationship of the indoor/outdoor living areas. Finally, we wanted a relatively efficient from a space and size perspective. Kelly and his team hit the ball out of the park on all fronts. They carefully listened to us at our meetings and their design made our ideas and "wants" come to life. They were always very responsive and punctual and gave realistic timelines, which is invaluable while going through such an endeavor. They also helped us choose builders who would be good for our project, helped coordinate some of the important design elements with the builders and were always responsive to any issues we had during the building process. The final result was exactly what we envisioned and more. We simply love our home, are very glad we chose Cusimano and would do so again.

My company and I have been working with Kelly Cusimano and his team for 7 years. I have been the builder on many of his projects from small remodels to multimillion-dollar homes and the amount of detail and thought that goes in to even the smallest detail is always consistent on every job no matter the size. I hired his company 6 years ago to do a second story addition on a 1950's in oak Forest and 2 years ago to design my own home and his wealth of knowledge an experience helped me to build a very well-thought-out and efficient home that works great for our family. I hired Kelly to design a new house. Requirements were many: a single-family residential lot inside the Loop with a modern, open interior and a clean exterior that should not clash with the historical architecture of the area. And I wanted to fit quite a lot in the 6,000 sq. ft. lot: a main house with about 2,400 sq. ft. (large kitchen, scullery, drinking station, pantry, mudroom, TV room, living/dining room, office, laundry room, 3 bedrooms, guest bathroom with large shower, master bathroom with bathtub and walk-in shower, powder room, and lots, lots of storage throughout) + covered patio with bbq. + detached second building with a large 2-cars garage, greenhouse for my husband to care for his plants, a storage room, and a comfortable apartment (again with lots of storage) with a full-size kitchen, bedroom/closet, bathroom, living room, separate office, laundry. I also wanted a garden in the back yard. And I wanted lots of light while avoiding direct sunlight. Kelly delivered it all with perfection. He really worked as a magician managing spaces. And the design works like a dream, with perfect flowing between the many spaces. Besides, the house is beautiful. The process was long because I wanted to think everything over, again and again. Kelly was very patient, giving careful consideration to my concerns and wishes. He was always prompt in replying to my many emails and calls. He was always easily available for meetings. And he has a fabulous team working with him (in this regard I would like to praise, in particular, Aaron Mendias.) To top it all Kelly is a very warm and nice person. Finally, Kelly assisted me in selecting a builder that was a perfect match. And I am so very thankful for this.

My wife, Maribel, and I hired Kelly in early 2017 to assist us with the remodel of a traditional one story brick home built in 1960. The house had good bones, but it it desperately needed updating for today's standard of living. Apart from remodeling, we also wanted to add on to the home in such a way that made the addition feel like it could have been part of the original structure. Kelly did a wonderful job listening to our ideas. He quickly and efficiently translated those ideas into simple, elegant solutions that we would not have thought of on our own. Kelly's team met with us on several occasion to refine concepts and drawings, always conducting themselves with great professionalism. The remodel/addition will be complete in a few weeks, and we are thrilled with the results.
