Christine Yorath Design

I came across Christine through the Houzz website and have been a very happy customer. I had met her to discuss my dreams for refurbishment of my apartment. I can now say for certain that I would not have been able to achieve my dreams without her help.. I was anxious to start with as I did not know what to expect. Christine made the whole journey smooth and enjoyable. The qualities that stood out were easy approachability, keeping to time lines and having great tradesmen in to complete tasks. No job was ever too much for her. She would go out of her way to ensure that everything being done in the apartment was of a great standard with great attention to details. Although the cost feels more than you would pay if you were to do everything on your own, it took away the hassle and stress. One cannot put a price on that. She helped to procure stuff at great prices due to her accounts with most of the reputed companies. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a reliable, trustworthy and efficient professional.

Christine is awesome! I initially asked for some advice on how to modernise certain parts of my home and a few months later, she has completely transformed it. Christine has amazing vision and has made once bland rooms look quite amazing. The end result is better than I was expecting and Christine has done things which I would have never thought of. She stuck to the budget and was also great at recycling/upcycling existing pieces to reduce costs. Every house needs a visit from Christine!! I would highly recommend.

We used Christine as a Consultant for two of our developments - Harewood Villas in Harewood, Leeds and Biba House, York . Christine reviewed plans and layouts to see if they could be improved or maximised and worked with the M&E designer to ensure that the lighting scheme and specifications were suitable and appropriate. She then wrote up the specifications to ensure that all of the “touchy feely” visual things worked such as the colour scheme, the finishes, the kitchen design and specification and the bathrooms. She also ensured that all costs were within the budget and she attended all the site meetings and became a point of contact for the Site Manager and other associated professionals. Christine was also involved in the marketing of Biba House and she brought added value by increasing the specification to include such things as programmable lighting, steam ovens, TV’s in the bathrooms, sensor lighting for night time in bathrooms etc and whilst there was an extra cost to this, we saw a really big increase in the GDV over what was initially forecast. Harewood Villa’s were another example of where the specification was too low to achieve the sales prices we wanted to achieve so she revised the specifications and the layouts resulting in them all selling for top dollar which is very impressive taking into consideration we were just coming out of recession. We have also used Christine’s services for fitting out our show house at Black Swan Yard in Helmsley and two show apartments at Cocoa Suites in York which we were delighted with. We gave her our budgets and left the choices to her and as usual, Christine kept to the budget and did a marvellous job. We will always use Christine for our developments because we know we can rely on her to provide excellent, efficient, very friendly service and she is a pleasure to work with.

Christine ran the full house redevelopment project from start to finish to snag jobs. She liaised with the surveyor and planning, organised the builder, the contractors and the suppliers and ensured the project moved at a steady pace. Once the extension was built, Christine also advised on the "look and feel" of the project and on the type of materials, fixtures and fittings, the finish and the detail/accessories that should be used to ensure a quality finish. I look forward to the next project.

After having purchased Howley Hall Farm buildings for a Development project, Pat and myself, decided it gave us the ideal opportunity to create our own dream house, along with three other detached properties. Not having undertaken anything like this before we were delighted to be introduced to Christine. With her professionalism and keen eye for detail we believe we have achieved everything we could have wished for and turned our house into a fabulous home. Christine gave us the confidence to do things with the property that we would probably never have attempted. We would have no problem in recommending Christine to anyone who desires that little bit extra, and be very confident she would create what is required as she has done for us.

I was introduced to Christine through her son Jordan. After our initial meeting I was already confident in Christine's approach. Following a site visit and my input not being the most informative, Christine then came back with a plan for the whole interior of the house and an estimate of costs. I was then inundated with any and all the potential finishings to agree prior to any purchase. I did not have to get involved in anything else and with a very tight deadline, I was handed over a property on time and one that was finished way above my expectations. Definitely will use again and do/will recommend.

Professional from start to finish. From the first consultation Christine knew exactly what I needed doing and I just left it to her and her team and the outcome was better than expected. The job was completed in quite a quick time scale as well. Would use Christine again in the future.

May i first say what a pleasure it was to work with Christine ,Christine was very professional in her approach to my project and she was a great communicator and very informative in all aspects during the project .She was so charming and help full in all the meetings we had so i have no hesitation in highly recommending Christine and her company for any project both large and small.

We overhauled our recently purchased house, including flooring, decorating, shelving, doors, lighting, and curtains. The tradesmen Christine works with are professional and do an excellent job. Christine herself is very helpful with helping you to make decisions, hunting down the flooring/lighting/curtains you're after, and is extremely responsive by email. I can't imagine working with anyone better.

Having never engaged anyone to Project Manage a home renovation project before we weren't sure what to expect, and we were pleasantly surprised with all aspects of our master bedroom renovation. The key work we had done was a lowered ceiling, new electrics (sockets and ceiling lights), walls re-plastered, fitted wardrobes, bedroom furniture and window dressing (blinds and curtains). We also had full carpets throughout the upstairs area. Christine gave us some really good ideas and advice on layout and colour schemes, and managed everything to a tight schedule with a keen eye for detail. Christine has an extensive network of tradespeople, and was able to negotiate rates and costs that we would not have been able to achieve ourselves, so the overall cost of the project, including fees etc., completed within our budget. There were some issues with the fitted wardrobe suppliers, but Christine handled the whole thing and ensured the issues were dealt with without us having to get involved, making the whole process fairly stress free. Overall this was an excellent service and good value for money, and we will definitely be looking to use Christine's services again in the future.
