We hired Tyreus’ architectual and design firm after visiting a house they had completed in Sonoma County that was jaw drop beautiful! We had just closed on a turn-of-the-century dump of a home in Santa Cruz and I told my husband, we have to hire the same company that designed this Sonoma home. Less than six months later we were in contract with Christie Tyreus to renovate our beach home. The entire process could not have been more perfect. She and her team, specifically her interior designer Natalia, are the consummate professionals when it comes to communication, honoring someone’s budget and meeting deadline. They picked everything from the layout of the home to the wallpaper and floors, and every single piece of furniture. The firm also helped guide us through the architectural drawing and permit review process, which in Santa Cruz during Covid was no small feat. We’re getting ready to remodel another home and Tyreus Design Studios is the only partner we will be considering. Don’t hesitate to hire them!

We hired Christie and Tyreus Design for some extensive remodeling of our house in Tiburon - new/expanded deck, full kitchen remodel, master bedroom/bath remodel and reconfiguration. Christie and her team were creative, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. The new deck configuration really provides for an improved access and utilization, and was something we never thought of on our own - great solution. The project is in planning stage and we just received the permits from the town, which is a difficult process in Tiburon, but much advantaged by Christie's quick responses and collaborative attitude. Christie is an incredibly talented, creative and professional architect and I will definitely work with her on future projects. She knows her craft well and is easy to talk to and work with. She has great ideas of her own but also listens to her clients and incorporates their ideas into her designs. And as an added bonus, I feel as if I made a friend in the process.

Christie turned our old and tired 50s rancher into a modern wonder. She was great to work with and kept our budget in mind.

Christie is phenomenal. I interviewed 7 architects to renovate our SF condo back in late 2019 and she was the best and most likable of all 7. Likability is important b/c I knew we had to have constant conversations and debates about design ideas and decisions for months to come. Christie was one of the few who didn't walk in, throw some awards in my face, brag about how cozy they are with the permit office, and talk my ear off about the different things they've done. Instead, she listened and we dialogued, like two normal people. She's the only one who's references held true and promised she was as detailed and as competent as she seemed. I've found working with Christie an absolute dream. She's not only extremely good at design and execution, she is great about follow-through, working with general contractors, and getting through new challenges that come up. She keeps a level head in all situations, she's empathetic, adaptable to new ideas, and just really smart about how she utilizes her time (which translates to costs). Christie did and amazing job! We hired her firm to help us with a major remodel in Paradise Cay - Tiburon. She interpreted our vision, found solutions to obstacles, and the result is a stunning property with great features. Our home reflects the way we live, and every detail was well thought out, from the entry, interior, and how it ties to our outside water views. We are delighted with the result!

We asked Christie to make a “see through” house” in our farm in Sonoma - and what a great design she came up with. In the construction process, she coordinated the design of all aspects of the house including minor details. Christie was very proactive in different ideas including interior design and gave us many options to choose from. We are very happy with our decision to work with Christie.

Christie is amazing. In every aspect. All the time. After we lost our Napa house in the 2017 fires we spoke with 1/2 dozen architects. Christie was the only one who asked for our first meet to be on site. At that first meeting she thoughtfully asked about how a day progresses for us in the house. Who gets up first? Where would we drink coffee? She looked at the pattern of the sun. Then we started talking about the house design. Nothing about our build was simple: the site is remote, woodsy and the house is against a hill. Christie rose to every challenge, presented us with options, was sensitive to costs and always, always kept a focus on how we would live in the house. Today we have an extraordinarily beautiful, light-filled home that embraces indoor/outdoor living and from each window the outlook is like a painting. Christie and her team are simply the best.

We found a house in Sonoma and took Christie to check it out before we purchased it. From that point on we collaborated with Christie regarding our vision. We recently completed construction and moved in, and we are over the moon with our new wine country home. Christie's design advice, focus on detail, style and quality have been exceptional.

Christie is a consummate professional that did a fantastic job for our project. Our project included a full remodel for three bathrooms and some other miscellaneous updates for the apartment. Christie and her team were thorough while being extremely open to feedback from the contractor and us. It was a pleasure working with her and we would absolutely do it again.

In addition to skilled architecture and design in a very limited space, Tyreus Design brought a calm and reasonable tempo to a process that I, for one, find daunting and stressful. Christie and her associates were able to fill in our considerable gaps in knowledge and understanding, but also work with the really specific things we cared about. Our remodel was complicated - some unpleasant foundational surprises and permit backups- and Tyreus Design never abandoned enthusiasm and ownership of the project. They were good at what we hoped they would do, and great at things we did not even understand at the beginning of the process. We recommend them highly, and are so pleased with our new home.

We hired Christie to design both and indoor and outdoor remodel and couldn't not be more pleased with the results. She was thoughtful both in design and budgeting which was the perfect mix for our situation. We would certainly hire her again given the chance!

From lighting, window placement and fireplace design, to locating beautiful pieces that we'll have forever (e.g., gorgeous handmade elm dining table and walnut side board), to helping us choose all of our fixtures -- her taste and presentation are immaculate. Even 2 1/2 years after completing our remodel, we still love the aesthetic, quality and functionality of our kitchen living area, and are happy with every decision we made with Christie's guidance.

We used Christie for the remodel of our St Helena (Napa Valley) home. She was incredibly professional and brought creativity, focus and impeccable design to the table each time we met with her. We hired Christie in 2012 for a remodel of our dark, dated 1970's California ranch. When we began the project, the scope was limited to the public areas (kitchen, family, living, dining) of the house, but it quickly grew to include a new bathroom addition and remodel of our 4 bedrooms as well. My biggest fear going into the project was that any changes we made would look like just that - changes - as opposed to a seamless update where the lines between old and new would be undetectable. Christie put those fears to rest with her first drawings, which cleverly added a new bathroom where an expansive and unused front porch had once been. Genius! She also gave us a slightly larger kitchen footprint by bumping out the wall between the bedrooms and the kitchen. Her fee was very reasonable for the services she provided. While Christie leans toward a very modern, clean, aesthetic, she is flexible and very good about letting the client's design preferences take the lead. Our house is now a gorgeous, rustic modern, light and airy ranch house with an efficient layout and quality workmanship (Christie recommended our contractor). Besides being a gifted architect, Chrsitie skillfully shepherded our project through the Larkspur planning department, keeping us on the desired timeline. We are one of the few homeowners out there who can say we were 100% satisfied with the process and the results. Thank you, Christie.

Christie was our architect for a very transformative remodel of our entire house. From a very dated 1970's styled house, that was built originally in the 1920's. She was everything we needed in an architect. Creative, responsive, and very professional. We would highly recommend her services.
