We instructed CBA to manage and design a small development site within Torquay back in November 2020. The design consisted of 7 renovations and 4 new builds. The work started in January 2021 and we can confidently say that Simon and his Team within CBA maintained a very professional manner throughout. Their knowledge is invaluable especially within this project as the site is over 150 years old and consisted of a renovation of an old victorian school. Simon and his team were successful in all the planning aspects of the work and maintained a positive outlook even when the project hit certain barriers along the way. The New Builds have been designed and built within keeping of the school and the whole site blends beautifully within the area. The overwhelming feedback on the properties is amazing and the outpouring of love and thanks from past pupils and locals for not only keeping the school but keeping a high standard of design which is sympathetic to the surroundings and history of the area. The renovation of the site has even attracted the Torbay Civic Society to place a Blue Plaque to Commemorate Richard Mallock MP who donated the school to the area back in 1872. We highly recommend Simon and his Team.

I have used Charles Blake Associates twice, initially for the refurbishment of a grade 2 listed commercial premises and subsequently for alterations and refurbishment of an adjoining cottage. Both times the service has been efficient and delivered on time, plans have been passed first time due to Simon's liaison with the relevant planning authorities throughout the planning process and building regs have also been achieved first time. Simon also liaised with structural engineers and building contractors on site to ensure the best and most cost effective solution for the more complex issues encountered. I would definitely recommend Charles Blake Associates to others and would use them again myself should the need arise.

We employed Simon having come across the firm in my role as a local council solicitor. We were not disappointed. We wanted a new porch, loft conversion and new integral garden room/ conservatory. Simon listened to our ideas and designed a layout has provided us with beautiful living space. He guided us through the planning process so that our planning application was supported by the council within the 8 week timeframe.
