Truly Custom Woodworking As many of you know, Dale did not start his woodworking career where he is today a Master Craftsman. At eleven years old he started out at the bottom of the "craftsman-in-training" ladder. That was in a closet nailing down the floor for his father’s company. Many years later at the beginning of his business, making custom wood furniture and period kitchen cabinets brought with it many questions from clients. The questions came after a perspective client had viewed our work at a friend’s home or in a public place where Dale had built custom cabinetry. It goes something like this “Can you build that in cherry?” Our answer would always be, "Yes, of course!" Then the next questions would come involving various aspects with which they were interested. They would need something like that but larger, smaller and different. The fact is Dale can build anything you need, want or desire from any wood from which we can find a supplier. The measurements come from your needs, as well as everything else involved in the design. That's what custom woodworking is; making what the client wants! Our goal is to please the client. Sometimes the client knows what they want, but can’t quite get it out of their mind onto paper. This frustration is remedied by listening to those bits of information in their explanation that allows us to ‘see’ it as they do. Dale is blessed with the ability to draw or sketch and bring the client's mental picture to the paper for everyone to see. Then we know we are heading in the right direction. When we know we are talking about the same idea, then we can begin the true design work. We will bring it to reality is only a matter of time. The once beautiful design dream is now finished work in their homes providing comfort and functioning to enhance their life. This ability is the joy of our career, and we hope it is also the satisfaction of our clients.
