We are a client focused, design led architectural firm who deliver tailored design solutions for individual clients and projects of all budgets across the residential sector. We have big ideas, a passion for transforming peoples dreams and aspirations into reality. We have over 25 years combined experience and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project. We ensure that projects are realistic to the budget available. Each project is guaranteed the personal attention of one of the directors who guides is from the initial consultation through to completion with our energetic and enthusiastic team. Every client, site, brief and budget are unique and as such deserve a unique response. We offer a professional service at all times which fulfils all client brief requirements and exceeds expectations. By listening to client needs we are able to interpret their needs, identify specific site opportunities and ultimately deliver designs which maximise space and light while at all times adhering to budget constraints. Building work is a big undertaking and the client will be living with the results for many years to come – we recognise that it is your project and your money being spent and we therefore do not push specific design agendas or styles but rather listen to what each client wants.

We typically provide architectural services on domestic projects where the minimum construction budget is €150-200k. Fees are typically fixed and estimated at outset depending on scope and time input required. Smaller jobs can be considered if very close to our offices in Booterstown. Regardless of project size a 1 hour consultation can be provided within the Dublin area for €195 incl. VAT and travel expenses subject to appointment / availability.

Alan of Bright Design Architects provided a consultation to us as part of the Simon Open Door fundraiser. He was knowlegable and provided some nice ideas for developing our home including energy efficiency and insulation, rear shed conversion, garage door and kitchen refurbishment.

Just completed our extension and renovation with Bright Design Architects. Absolutely delighted with how it turned out. We started this journey with John Power a number of years ago, John really went above and beyond for us. His attention to detail and his over all design was beyond what we had every imagined. He maximised every single inch of our house. He always made himself available to us and our budget was always at the forefront of his mind. John is a real asset to Bright Design and Bright Design were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thanks for everything John.

We were recommended Bright Design Architects by our QS. They did not disappoint. John Power was our architect for our renovation project, with a view to future extension. It was obvious from the design that John took on board all we talked about in the initial consultation call and with other information provided. We were so impressed with the designs and the future extension options. In our opinion money well spent. We hope to be in a position to work with him again in the future for a detailed extension plan.

We used Bright Design Architects for the total renovation of an early 1900's terrace house. This work involved removing and re configuring inside walls and an extension at the rear of the property. Bright Designs helped us with the initial plans for planning permission and detailed working drawings for the construction phase along with supervision during construction.. We had a dedicated Architect and he was extremely professional in all his work and communication both towards us the clients and the various contractors involved. He ensured all was built to specification and that the finish was to the standards set. The project took 16 weeks and all came in on time despite a few unseen hiccups (as can be expected from such an old building) during the process which were handled by Bright Design Architects and the builder without fuss. I would highly recommend Bright Design Architects to anyone looking for full specification professional building project support and would be happy to use them, if required, again in the future.

My project was a new build contemporary bungalow in a tight space. After a ringing endorsement and strong recommendation by the eventual sanitary-ware supplier I engaged Alan Burns and Bright Design Architects (BDA) to design and oversee the project. It proved to be an inspired choice. BDA offer fixed fees which are based on individual work stages without any obligation to commit to any stage. This certainty was important to me at the outset. BDA's design maximised the outcome from the small space and resulted in a bespoke, contemporary, beautiful, light filled 2 bed bungalow. Alan brought a level of professionalism, design, attention to detail, responsiveness, cost consciousness, support and knowledge that I have seldom experienced in any walk of life. And the final result was achieved within time and budget. Together with David Pastor, Alan's associate, Bright Design succeeded in achieving a fabulous outcome to what was at the outset a testing and challenging assignment.

We worked with Alan Burns and the team at Bright Designs over the last 12-18 months for the design, planning, renovation and extension of our semi-detached dormer bungalow. Alan worked very closely with us through all stages of the process including planning permission which took some time. We found Alan to be excellent in all areas of work undertaken, he took on board our ideas and incorporated them into an overall plan which combined both our ideas and his own. Throughout the planning, tendering and construction phases Alan remained very much a trusted partner, advising us on all the key decisions we needed to make, suggesting suppliers and workarounds where needed which was very helpful. We were particularly impressed with Alan's level of responsiveness throughout the entire process, his attention to detail and his desire to deliver a finished product which was fully in line with our brief. We are delighted with the end result and would have no hesitation in recommending Alan and his team.

Alan Burns and his team at Bright Designs carried out a full refurbishment of our 1980's mews house from start to finish. It was important that our architect be responsive as we were living in London throughout the project. Alan and his team were very responsive (special mention to Phil McCoy who answered our design queries/requests and fielded our many daily emails expertly). Alan paid great attention to detail throughout and dealt with the inevitable problems that a refurbishment brings with ease, offering pragmatic solutions. The property had a right of access through to another property so dealing with irate neighbours was an ongoing feature but again, Alan steered us through the stress with his calm and pragmatic approach. Alan's contacts for fitted furniture, kitchens, fireplaces etc. were very useful for us, meaning that we did not have to source contacts ourselves. We are very happy with the end result and would not hesitate to recommend Alan and his team or indeed use them again in the future.
