Birch and Basil Design is a boutique Manhattan based landscape design firm specializing in rooftop gardens, terraces, and backyards. We take pride in our creative horticultural artistry, and in providing the highest level of service tailored to each garden and client. You might say we’re obsessed with quality. We hand select plants from top quality growers for our installations, build planters, pergolas, landscape elements and bespoke structures out of stylish and long lasting materials, and care for gardens with an all organic approach. The principal, Kristin Monji, is a landscape designer, horticulturist and certified arborist from Orange County, California. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. Kristin was a delight to work with on my Brooklyn backyard. Her creative, highly customized approach resulted in a space my family and I absolutely love and incorporates all the things we wanted (hardscaping, new planters, plants, lighting, outdoor kitchen, custom benches). Her entire team and subcontractors involved were professional and wonderfully attentive and communicative. If you're looking for a firm that can consistently exceed your expectations, look no further!
