For over 40 years, the Aulik companies have provided design and construction services for some of the finest properties in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Our design services team uses state of the art architectural software to bring our clients dreams to a detailed plan. Our construction team of project managers, construction coordinators, carpenters, and trusted subcontractors bring the architectural plan to life. Gary Aulik: Hello, my name is Gary Aulik. I started my design and build business over thirty years ago. I spent the early years of my business listening to my clients' needs, advancing the designs, and personally executing them in the field. Whether my clients needed a deck designed and built or an entire kitchen remodeled, I was on site from start to finish. I think the years I spent building my business from the bottom up uniquely qualifies me to work closely with my clients and my network of "teammates", suppliers, and subcontractors. I love to create. Whether it's a solution for a new home or a mudroom in an old home, I love to create. My practical background in construction methods and costs benefits my clients as we make value decisions during the design phase that ultimately flows to the final product through construction. This balance between the "right brain" and "left brain" along with my hands-on approach, is what separates Aulik Companies from the rest. I know that there are generally several possible solutions to any problem. At Aulik Companies I am committed to finding the best one for the customer. I believe that until I have the opportunity to work for you the second time I haven't done the first job right! We utilized Aulik Design and Build to renovate an older rambler. After hearing horror stories from friends where contractors where hard to get hold of or essentially pushed you to pick something you did not, we had the exact opposite experience. Gary, his architect Chris, his project manager, and a team of sub-contractors came to actually look at the house with us in lieu of an inspection and found asbestos in the heating vents that was not even known to the seller. They squeezed our reno into a tight timeline but did not sacrifice quality and still were budget conscious. We added on scope to the project and they pivoted with grace. We had very specific tastes and wants and they tried things they had never done before but pulled them off like they had been doing it for years. After we had access to our kitchen, our dishwasher had an issue and leaked water - Gary answered the phone call on the second ring on Thanksgiving night and sent someone to figure out the issue the next morning. I still feel like I can call them and they would be there. I trust every single member of the team and truly miss working with them and have recommended them to all of my friends.

Gary is a great listener who guides his clients through every phase of a project. His close collaboration with clients and his uber talented staff, trades people and artisans ensure the final project is well executed and exceeds every expectation. Delivering joy to their clients, is a project well done for Aulik Design Build. Reviewing their portfolio of finished projects is truly a WOW experience. 10 stars is not enough for Aulik Design Build.
