Sharon and Peter never rest, especially when it concerns designing for their clients. The true genius of Architecture Is Fun, is their ability to design projects that consistently embody the sophistication and whimsy that have brought them many accolades, while always keeping the unique needs and personalities of each client the primary focus. No better example of this is Sharon and Peter's adeptness with color, which is always driven by each individual project and from the cues they unearth from the many conversations they have with their clients.

I've worked with Sharon and Peter on multiple projects since 2004. Hands down, they are two of the most creative and intelligent individuals I know - and yet simultaneously, amazingly unselfish, caring, and compassionate. Sharon and Peter leverage their whole selves in support of their clients (and their client's clients). They are incredible listeners communicators, often times hearing what is not said and finding the perfect word to express what is wanted. Sharon and Peter's ability to translate their other-worldly inspiration into solutions that are personal, practical, and beautiful is unparalleled. Its truly a joy to know and work with them.

Full of ideas and never shy to present them. The Exley's of Architecture is Fun are a joy to work with and learn from. The unfailing enjoyment of the craft they have chosen is absolutely catching. A few meetings with Sharon and Peter and you feel the inner child creeping back into your psyche from long past and that welcome burst of imagination hits hard. From there you can simply follow them to the finish,; and it's always a good one.

I have known the Exleys, for twenty years and watched with fascination (and a good chunk of envy) as their thoughtful approach to design has evolved and matured. Sharon and Peter I have known for 20+ years first professionally, then academically and now as friends. They have established the go-to design and architecture practice in Chicago, the state and the US. for children's facilities, including; museums, libraries, residential and custom exhibits. Their work is highly respected, winning many design awards and publication. They are wonderful to work with as they completed the interiors and exhibits in our Chicago Children's Museum at North Pier.
