Surrey's High Quality Bespoke and German Kitchens

Founded in 1999 by Ian Cross, Adaptations has been designing and installing award-winning, high quality, bespoke and German kitchens in South West London and Surrey for 25 years. We are a small independent design studio offering a complete tailored service to our clients, encompassing all aspects from initial design through to completion. Ian and his team of designers work closely with their clients to create kitchens that are stylish in design, exceptional in quality and practical for everyday life. In addition to working with our client’s contractors on larger projects such as extensions and new builds, we also offer a full installation service including; tiling, electrical and plumbing, plastering and decorating to ensure a smooth, trouble free installation. Adaptations also works with designers and architects on a regular basis, providing advice during the initial stages of a project to help deliver a positive impact on the overall final design.

Ian, Oliver, Hellen and the team designed and installed our new kitchen in 2022. They were brilliant to work with throughout the process - listening to exactly what we wanted from the design and offering innovative ideas and solutions to problems. The install was great as well and we appreciated their willingness to fix issues and work with our builder and electrician to ensure we got exactly the finish we were expecting. One thing I really appreciated is that we largely stuck to the budget we had set out in the beginning. We didn’t feel pressured to pay for more expensive fixtures and we felt the price was very fair for our fabulous kitchen. They are lovely people, lovely to work with, deliver an extremely high quality product and I am more than happy to recommend them.

Highly recommend the Adaptations team if you're planning a new kitchen. We worked with Oliver to design the ideal layout of the kitchen, and he gave really useful input and insight. The kitchen was fitted 6 months ago and we LOVE it. Infact the kitchen was the easiest and most rewarding part of our building project. Massive thanks to Adaptations.

Oliver and team at Adaptations were absolutely excellent. Our designer Sarah of 'RaRa' designs recommended them because she'd seen how professional their fitters were. The service was excellent and efficient from start to finish. The choice of materials was extensive but clearly explained and we're delighted with the ease of use and the enjoyment we're having from our kitchen. We live in Esher where there are 6 kitchen shops - we were spoilt for choice with design to suit any pocket on our doorstep but very happy to have gone a little further afield to Adaptations in Cobham. They are great, we're really thankful.

I absolutely love my new kitchen. So impressed by the whole team at Adaptations. Oliver Grigson, the Senior Design Consultant was fantastic, not only is he an amazing designer, but he has the patience of a saint. He redesigned my kitchen so many times as I could not make up my mind, I was a tricky customer at times, but he always had a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Gary who installed the kitchen was a pleasure, extremely pleasant and very professional, as were the whole team. I cannot rate Adaptations highly enough and would definitely recommend them to my friends.

Adaptations designed and built our new kitchen. From the outset they understood what we wanted to achieve and explained the options and costs very clearly. They were very accommodating when the builder was late in preparing the room. The installation process was seamless and they took a real pride in making sure everything was 100%. They were also very helpful when we had future issues with the flooring even when they had not installed it. I would not hesitate in recommending Adaptations to anyone.

Ian and his team designed and fitted our new kitchen over the summer. We are so pleased with everything, including the process, which was made as painless as possible. The kitchen is really beautiful and people who visit (admittedly not many at the moment) comment on how lovely it is. We were given good advice during the creative process and Ian was very patient while we made up our minds about things and then changed them again. All his 'people' who came to the house were nice and considerate.

Ian and his team are extremely knowledgable and professional throughout. We had a very complex and cutting edge Eggersmann kitchen designed and installed by Ian and his team. Adaptations didn't disappoint! The design was excellent and fitting and after sales service was second to none. These guys love what they do and have the passion to see the job through to the end, no matter what! I would give them 10/10!

The overall design, the kitchen units and the workmanship were all top quality and we are delighted with the finished product. We were particularly impressed with the project management, which meant we had little disruption during the build work, with all aspects of the new kitchen delivered on time and looking great. The personal service and attention to detail from Ian and everyone at Adaptations from initial conception until the completion of the kitchen was second to none!
