Arbordale is a design and build landscape construction company that has been creating dream landscapes for our clients since 1981. We are a full-service landscape company taking our clients projects from conceptual design through to completion. We offer creative design, quality craftsmanship and service that is unmatched in the industry. We pride ourselves on our work to beautify the city of Toronto, and plan on doing so for a long time to come. Arbordale was founded by Bob and Mitzi Tubby after they graduated from Humber College in the Landscape Technician program. It is now in its second generation as their son Blake has taken over after graduating from the same program. Blake is a Certified Landscape Designer and takes care of all daily operations including design, estimating and project management. Arbordale specializes in all sizes and styles of landscape construction from large to small and traditional to modern. We have all the right people to make any project come together flawlessly. Arbordale is located near Highway 7 and Keele St, allowing us to easily service Toronto, the GTA and surrounding areas. We have been active members of Landscape Ontario since 1982.

In brief: The job - complex; The team - high skill set; Execution - rigorous attention to detail; Under promise/over deliver. Landscape design and construction is always challenging. It is doubly challenging when it involves the conversion of a property, sloping significantly from south to north and from west to east, to 4 flat planes, supported by Corten steel walls, and pinned between existing structural elements. Over the course of a 12 month period Blake Tubby/Arbordale played a critical role in the successful completion of that project. Their contribution included important participation in the design process, the dedication of a highly skilled team to the work, introduction to other trades, the coordination of the work and sourcing materials during a period marked by the restrictions and supply shortages of Covid. Result: At the end of the day the objective must be the better realization of the full potential of a site. Measured against that standard, overall assessment: Mission Accomplished!

We had Blake and the team work with us to design and landscape our front and back yard. With the front yard completed last fall, we were first in line to have our backyard completed this spring. We couldn't be happier with the final results. Blake and team worked with us to tweak our plans right up until our project began. As for the crew, they were courteous, hard working and always willing to work with us on small revisions. I would highly recommend Arbordale Landscaping!

We had a great experience with Arbordale for the landscaping of our new build, including deck, driveway, lawns and planting beds. Blake listened carefully to our ideas and incorporated everything we wanted. When it turned out we had too much of a champagne taste for our beer budget, Blake was flexible and suggested ways to economize. Working with Blake and his team was also a delight as they were responsive, efficient, courteous and pleasant, and exceptionally tidy (what a rarity in a contractor!). It's clear that the team takes great pride in their work, and we have received several compliments on the results. We recommend Arbordale without hesitation.

I recently began the planning of my backyard restoration (as I'm planning on a new deck as well as stone paths and gardens) but didn't know where to start. I had reached out to Blake at Arbordale who took the time to *listen* to everything I was looking for, and providing me with a fantastic design very shortly thereafter. I'm also very pleased that he provided me with 2 separate designs as we never once spoke about a budget for such a project (which I appreciated, as he gave me what I wanted, rather than what I could potentially fit within a budget). At least now I knew what I needed to get the job done, and would highly recommend Arbordale for anything to do with design and landscaping. These guys know what they're talking about! I can't wait to hire them soon for this job.

Fabulous Job Arbordale did a challenging project in my backyard this year which was complicated by a reverse ravine with no access for motorized vehicles. From my initial meeting with Blake and my landscape architect, to completion of the job, Arbordale was very professional. The crew under the supervision of Adam, were extremely hard-working and respectful of my time and space. They completed the job in an organized and timely fashion despite the difficult working conditions. I was advised of any necessary changes to the original plan in advance including any cost changes subject to my approval. I would highly recommend Arbordale to anyone and would certainly use their services again if needed in the future.

I highly recommend Arbordale landscaping!!! They did a great job on my front yard last summer. They respected the schedule which is very rare in that industry ( I had bad experience before with other contractors). In addition, the workers were very nice and respectful.

We worked with Arbordale to redesign our backyard space over a sixth month period. Each step of the way, Blake was responsive, and good to work with. He delivered on his promise to assign an expert crew, headed by Adam. They worked hard and with precision . If there was an issue they helped solve it.I worked with them closely over the installation, design, etc. And would not hesitate to recommend them. It is tough to find good quality, honest, responsible workers in this city and we found that and more with Arbordale.

I find Abordale’s sense of space and clean lines very refreshing. I don't have a green thumb, nor do I want one. Arbordale was able to put together a wonderful mosaic of greens and deep hues! I feel very confident allowing them to.care for my property as long as I have it. Thank you Arbordale.

Arbordale Landscaping have been fantastic. The job will be finished in the spring, but they worked right up until Dec 23rd, coming up with creative ways that they could continue through the cold/snow. The limestone 'look' stone that they have laid looks great, and very modern with linear lines and pool coping to match. Everything has been as promised, and they have helped with every aspect, from design, permits, working with pool co., sourcing options etc., and coordinating different suppliers such as golf greens, lighting, irrigation, to make it a completely turn-key experience. The team onsite are very nice bunch of guys, and dedicated to excellence. I would recommend Arbordale to anyone, and we will definitely use again as needed after the back is complete.

We purchased our new home last year and we knew we needed to refresh our landscaping. I have a design background and began planning and researching design concepts. Once our goals and budget got finalized, I reached out to a few landscaping companies including Arbordale. Blake's professionalism, ideas and take on my project stood out from other companies and I know I was going to hire them. I had a pleasure meeting with Bob and Blake and we went through the design drawing and details. Blake was great to work with and he managed my expectation by keeping the budget in mind. Blake and crew began my project early October with Chris Frazzi leading the crew. Through out the project, Chris and the team were professional and punctual and conducted their work neatly and in an organized fashioned. My neighbors tend to be sensitive toward noise and Arbordale managed to complete the work without no major disturbance and issues. Chris was extremely attentive and accommodating; allowing me to add / change some details to further improve the design. I don't know where to begin. Bob, Blake and the team (I can name them all) were fantastic! We moved into a new development and the folks at Arbordale took the space from builder weed infested patchy sod laid on top of clay to a backyard oasis that provides new space for living and entertaining. The work was done to the highest standard by friendly, professional staff. Bob, Blake & April took the time to understand what we wanted and converted that into a space that went beyond our expectations. During construction, all of the members of the team took the time to answer any questions we had and were happy to accommodate changes and minor additions to the project. I cannot recommend Arbordale highly or enthusiastically enough!

We asked Arbordale to address a soggy backyard situation resulting from our sump pump discharge. They ended up installing two french drains . Blake and his team (including subcontractors) were probably the most professional contractors we've ever worked with. Blake was detail oriented when assessing the problem and explaining the full range of possibilities. Moreover, he was responsive and reasonable when it came to negotiating the contract. Despite the Arbordale team being very busy at the time, they were still able to get the job done on time, which was important to us. I would definitely recommend Blake and his team to anyone who wants experienced, creative, professional and responsive contractors on the job who take a lot of pride in their work and in delivering a very high level of customer service.

This is the third landscaping project that we have hired Arbordale for. In 1989, Bob Tubby and his team landscaped our front yard including an interlock walkway (which still looks great!) and in 1992, the backyard was landscaped with new plants, fence and gate (rock solid installation with no fence movement in over 25 years!). We were so pleased with their high quality workmanship that we hired them again in 2016 for a new interlock patio, new side walkways, removal of older shrubs and hedge, new planting beds, retaining wall. Blake (Bob's and Mitzi's son) and the Arbordale team are extremely hard working professionals and produce (as in the past) superior workmanship, delivering the project on-time and within our budget. They work with you before and during the project to ensure that they deliver exactly what you want. We couldn't be happier with the results and will be working with them spring 2017 to wrap up the planting part of the project (I had opted to wait until spring for better plant selection). For professional hardscaping that will endure over time (fencing, interlock, etc.) and results that you will love and enjoy for many years to come, Arbordale is the landscaping company to hire!

We are dedicated DIYers who have always avoided contractors whenever possible, but we just can't do masonry. When we first needed stonework done, we toured our neighbourhood, located the best work of all, and got the owner's enthusiastic recommendation for Arbordale. After one mid-sized and one major installation, our praise remains sky-high for all phases. Doug Eakin listened intelligently and receptively to our design ideas and steered us diplomatically to some key improvements, mostly steering us toward less expensive options. The stonework team of Blake Tubby and Chris Fazzari did meticulous work in cramped city-lane surroundings, and were so careful and diplomatic that our neighbours gave us rave reviews of their considerate behaviour. Blake and Chris worked like demons, often from before dawn to dark (OK, it was November), and achieved the maximum speed possible given that they never sacrificed accuracy. They were professional, well-informed, articulate, and efficient. A carpentry portion was delayed because ordered materials failed to arrive, but the stonework portions were perfectly on schedule. If we wanted further stonework, we would either use Arbordale or simply do without. Sorry, we can't provide photos because the work is now buried by snow. We gloat at how beautiful it will be in spring.

Betz Pools Ltd. was hired to renovate an existing pool and build the pool cabanas while Arbordale Landscaping was hired to renovate and build the hard and soft landscape elements. From the first time we met Arbordale we knew that we had found a unique landscaping firm. They seemed to understand our needs well, and the initial design looked spectacular. While the team was on-site, they were incredibly professional and hard-working. They made sure that every detail was looked after and took into consideration our lifestyle to make excellent recommendations for the long-term maintenance of the backyard. They didn't just worry about the aesthetics but also spent a tremendous amount of time laying the foundation to ensure that we would be able to enjoy the backyard for many years to come. Arbordale Landscaping helped us renovate our pool in the spring of 2012. Arbordale removed the existing pool coping and installed new natural stone copings. They also adjusted the existing pavingstone to match the new height of the pool coping. We also had them perform various other adjustments to our existing landscape while on-site. The team at Arbordale was a breeze to work with. I appreciated the thoughtful expertise they provided for the design and material choices, and their on-site foreman and labourers were extremely hard working and a pleasure to deal with during the project. I was particularly impressed with their attention to detail--they made a custom stone skimmer cover that I love. Arbordale recently removed a craggy old cedar hedge and installed a yew for us. They did a lovely and timely job. Several years ago Arbordale also completely redesigned and installed new stone work and plantings in the front of our house which have received many compliments. We are located on a very public corner so the landscaping is important. The design and installation has added value to the property as well as pure enjoyment. We would highly recommend them.

We had two guys work at our place for almost three weeks. Two great young men. They were gentlemen and treated our home like it was their own. It was a pleasure to see. They walked us through any concerns we had. They showed up on time and picked up after themselves. I couldn't of been happier with their service.

Blake from Arbordale provided a beautiful design for our front and backyard that worked for our budget. He was very accommodating with questions and got back to us quickly. I can't say enough about the crew that did the work. They were professional courteous and cleaned up after themselves. For example, when my wife and young daughter would leave the leave the house the crew would turn off the power equipment, say hello, answer questions and even help with groceries and stroller if need be. You would be hard pressed to find a team as courteous and professional as Arbordale. I will be using them often in the years to come...

From the quoting process to the completion of our landscape remodel we were delighted with the friendly, courteous staff and the expert advise. Our home is truly enhanced by the gorgeous shrubs, flowers and trees that were recommended and installed. They even relocated our perennials that we had planted in areas that were not conducive to their optimum growth and longevity. I always believe that the management is a direct reflection of the staff and this certainly proved true of Arbordale Landscaping crew!

Arbordale Landscaping has done at least 4 projects for us over more than 10 year period in 2 homes...one in Thornhill and one in Stouffville. We are very pleased with the outcomes. From the moment Arbordale began working on my home project it was clear that this company was very organized and professional. I was not very educated about landscaping but when communicating with Blake everything was explained in detail and no stone was left unturned. During the construction process all crew members were very courteous and it was amazing to see the workmanship that went into this project. Arbordale Landscaping provided us with pricing to Install Whiarton Stone to our front porch, the stairs, and also the walkway to the Driveway. The same process for our Terrace and Stairs leading to our rear Yard. They assisted us in the design aspects of the project as well. Then, while we were away enjoying warm Florida weather in March, they came and did all of the installation, and when we returned 3 weeks later it was all done and flawless. We were very pleased with the ease of process and the results. It was an expensive undertaking, but they kept within the quote and there were no extra charges and they are exceedingly professional, neat, and clean. They delivered all that was promised and we feel there was very good value for the money spent.

We hired Arbordale Landscaping to develop the design for our front and back yards and they will be starting the construction later this year. We wanted to maximize the functionality of the space for our growing family needs while also being a place to enjoy and entertain family and friends. Blake Tubby at Arbordale is a seasoned professional who was quickly able to decipher our list of requests and develop a design and construction approach that far exceeded our expectations. We initially approached several contractors to understand styles and approach to the execution as we have a shared driveway. Arbordale by far took the most diligent approach to this limitation and presented clear methods on how they will manage the use of the driveway access available. This was a big concern of ours and Blake calmed our worries with meticulous attention to detail. The design developed, incorporated the use of hard wearing stone for pathways and patio. It also contains a flow through deck that will allow us to extend our living space from the back of the house to enjoy outdoor dinner parties and BBQ's. The main garden is landscaped to provide play space, planting and vegetable garden with a professional Canadian style. We have both hard and soft landscapes in our design. The most enjoyable aspect of working with Arbordale to date has been the way they have educated us in the landscaping process by bringing their years of experience and design concepts to the table. We highly recommend Arbordale for a professional landscape design and construction.

Very responsive to our initial call. Met with us onsite and listened to what our needs were. We told Bob our Budget and he gave us some good insight into the design process. Blake met with us as promised and explained the design for our particular space which is a 20 foot wide lot in Riverdale. Initially we were concerned about our budget but Arbordale reworked the plan to incorporate the major bones of the scope of the work with the plan to move forward in the coming years. We feel very confident that as the family grows, the back yard plan will give our family much enjoyment. Our motto is your do it once and you do it right!

Arbordale did a beautiful set of flagstone front stairs for me last year. They were very professional and the attention to detail was second to none. The stairs were phase 1 of our 3 part project. Can't wait until next year to finish the front yard and start planning for our dream backyard. I would recommend Arbordale to anyone in need of a quality landscape contractor who doesn't need babysitting and will deliver.
