"A medium-warm wood set against bright white in this Salt Lake City home designed by The Fox Group establishes an immediate sense of cozy farmhouse charm. Overhead, a more contemporary gold light fixture updates the look and adds another element of warmth." They can't possibly *believe* that. This is not without grace, but in the state pictured it is a very chilly grace.
This exterior is so close to being great but it's so irritating in the details. If it's supposed to evoke a farmhouse, why is there no railing on the porch? Why did they skip the nice lintels on the upper wing windows? Why didn't they either do a tan roof, or accent with black elsewhere to tie the black roof in with the rest? (It would have been so easy! Black window frames or shutters, or a wrought iron initial, or even just good house numbers!) Why did they allude to arches on the front porch but then smack them flat across the top? Why isn't there a balancing mass on the right side of the house? WHYYY??
Bohemian style...laundry? Real Bohemians have a longsuffering landlady who does their washing.
