Ilir's ideas
The high light above the main window keeps the upper part if this bedroom light and bright. It doesn't look like there's a blind on that window. But then again maybe these sleepers like being woken up by natural light.
This diffuse ceiling lantern means there's no view of an exposed lightbulb from the bed.
Wow. Fancy. I love the reflections that the central fixture throws around the room. There's down lights around the circumference of the room, sconces either side of the mirror for the dressing table and downlighting flooding down the curtains. Finish off with bedside lamps and you have a very layered lighting scheme.
Here two down lights highlight some art.
Behind the bed floor lamps for extra reading light. I guess you need a bed with a built in headboard to be able to do this.
Behind the headboard glow plus plus.
Lovely chandelier reflection.
Starry starry night along with recess lighting.
The corners of this bedroom are picked out by down lighters.
What a delightful shadow this low table lamp casts around the room. :)

Bedroom niche lighting. Lighting a niche in this position highlights special objects and contributes to bedside lighting.
Maybe add a coloured glow somewhere.
The mirrors behind these hanging pendants mean more light is thrown out into the room.
These downward yet diffused lights above the island have the rhythm and punctuation like hanging pendants without the visual obstruction of hanging pendants.
Under lit counter top.
Try lighting the inside of a cupboard as a feature. I'd be interested to see what these cupboard lights look like at night time.
Here we have track lighting to provide ambient light with pendants over the island and under cupboard lighting to provide task lighting.
Bring a little colour into your kitchen lighting design.
Floor level lighting in the Kitchen. I bet that changes colour too!
I love the way this ceiling fixture makes a pattern on the ceiling. It's ambient and decorative lighting all in one. I think the lighting on the counter are reflections of the under cabinet lighting. That's one of the things to look out for when putting lights above reflective surfaces. You have to embrace the reflection as a decoration.
If there are two islands in your kitchen have a think about how each of the islands will be used and light them accordingly.
Nice ceiling coffer lighting in this kitchen.
Lovely lights but I hope they're easy to clean. After a while nothing escapes a slight coating of kitchen cooking residue.

This coffered ceiling and lighting really adds to the atmosphere.
Long cords and hooks. A great idea for an inexpensive and casual look.
This ceiling is very high so it's important that the light is lowered to a more reasonable height so that it's lighting the island rather than the ceiling.
The track lighting in this kitchen provides ambient light and highlights the cabinets.
I like the ceiling glow above the island.
Here's a great example of above cabinet lighting and it looks like there's lights in the top glass fronted cabinets as well.
A halo under the countertop and around the edge of the cabinets. Beam me up!
A glow from under the island.
A glow from under the island and a cute sliver of light escaping from the top of the pillar.
Luxurious pantry lighting
Coffer lighting mixed with downlights. That huge mirror will increase the amount of natural light in the room.
Multi-pendant lighting in a living room.
Check out the uplighting in the wall.

Us an overhead lamp as a reading lamp.
Use an arch lamp to highlight the centre of the conversation area.
A light strip placed behind these shelves creates a glow both above and below.
