master bathroom
sublte curves, natural; not so sure about the handle.
Note the obscure glass and the Craftsman divided light design in the upper cabinets (which looks like our front windows, and might look like the window we install in this bathroom?). Might this be a good combination with the Yoemite theme? Or would the look of things behind the glass wind up looking cluttered?
Love how the overhead pair of lights, over the two sinks, give an Asian feeling, and coordinate with the plant between them. (We could use 3-dimensional art instead, if we don't want to have to maintain a plant. (Or we could decide we might be able to maintain one plant, in a bathroom, though it would be mighty cold in there in winter.)
Single handle; comes in brushed nickel. Moderate cost ($168)
Want a niche that has enough space for both of us (perhaps two levels), tall enough for our bottles, and with an aesthetic backing.
Remember the possibility of tiling interior of niches differently from main body of shower.
Interesting idea to hide not only shampoo but squeegee.
Nice vertical pebble waterfall in shower - wouldn't do black pebbles, but it's very strong.
Note very SMALL lip between bathroom floor and shower floor. Could be a compromise if we can't have a completely walk-in shower. This bathroom has lay-out virtually completely like our current master; it is 6x9. Click photo to access other photos of it.
An example of flat, sliced pebbles, suitable for floors.
Rounded pebbles. If not suitable for walls, consider putting these around edges of floor, with smoother tiles in rest of flooring.
Beautiful curved grab bar. Put this in shower!
Sleek grab bar. Comes in multiple finishes, I think.
"In this shower, the door shields the user from that first cold start-up spray. When you select your final shower fixture locations, remember that shower doors open both ways. By adding a separate side panel that the door hinges off of, it can open further into the shower without hitting the shower's fixtures."
This has more modern single door opening, and has build-in bench seat (would be on opposite wall from current seat). Note that this set-up has showerhead on long wall rather than at one end, though not in middle of long wall. Would this be easy to turn on w/o getting wet, if we had glass door?
Granite bench in shower
Granite or other stone bench would look better with thick lip in front
pebble waterfall, of rounded pebbles, with cut pebbles on the shower floor, and coordinated porcelain tiles on shower walls - really nice!
Corner triangle seat supported by vertical front of large tiles that match shower walls.
Minimalist shower curb, plus more info on right way to accomplish such curbs, such as angling in curb.
Folding wooden seat and inset shelf (make it larger)
Sit-down vanity area would be nice for aging in place
About right size. (Current mirror is 40"W; this is 38". Current mirror is 36"H; this is 28", I think.) Good quality. " Requires K-99012 or K-99675 side mirror kit (sold separately) for surface mount installation."
nice blue tiling colors
Beautiful custom medical cabinets (and cabinets in general)
Imagine using the granite slab as back shower wall. Then using the porcelain as side walls (and top of back wall). Would have to find different surface for shower floor (solid color, grey sliced pebbles?), and single-color matching surface for counters. A completely different look.
