but then again. wood is warm, inviting, more natural-feeling... the ceiling is the reverse of ours, but the kitchen has a lower ceiling, which is helpful when trying to visualize changing gradients overhead area in front of windows for plants is appealing, ceiling continues to overhang like the smooth floor near the island like the combination of floor/table lamps with overhead lighting how is it possible to have a vast expanse of wall space but NO ART?
oh, dear, back to this dreamy home like: 1.the clean, even floor from in to out -- nothing to trip on/ stub toe on 2. level playing field 3. warm, honey ceiling 4. smooth, clean wood frames on the doors that slide open don't like: only doors open, not windows ambivalent about losing some of the view with the deep overhang -- do the clerestory windows offer anything? they seem superfluous
graceful, elegant curves / mixed media island
lovely roof line -- dismantling the BOX, obliterates right angles, echoes of curving terrain
hmm. enter thru the library
lots of glass + furniture just inside entrance -- within see thru
see thru -- note furniture in view
glass entrance, overhang
door off center, room for bench & such on the side/ table & mirror on opposite
door off center
open sesame
glass entrance to wide foyer/ stuff in it unappealing, but the effect of expansiveness is inviting
note how the passageway opens

like: drawers under bench, hooks -- but, the bench needs to actually invite people to sit to contend with shoes (our house will be a shoe-free zone) -- these hooks & whatever's hanging on them will make sitting on this bench unlikely
like: playful touches, even if the details aren't our taste like: built-in bench (with lid for stashing stuff, like on a boat) like: cubbies for shoes, hooks for coats, shopping bags, scarves
like: a place for everything & everything in its place
like: roll-out marble-top place to knead
a water garden? wonderful
like: wall-mounted sink, toilet next to window that OPENS!
like: the rustic design.the curved faucets, the hanging soap dish
like: single, deep sink, flexible faucet with one handle for temp adjustment
like: the old-fashioned look of the faucet & how the hardware is not blocking the sink, not sure about all the grooves on the back splash
interesting way to deal with trash/ compost (although i'd like an opening to compost form the counter top)
like: glass cupboards, the slick opaque window that hides appliances if they can't fit in a walk-in pantry, this is an elegant way to keep them contained
yes, countertops devoted to prepping gadgets & gizmos out of the way
like: sliding doors, glass -- translucence a plus black laboratory countertops, something Nick dislikes isn't the kitchen a lab of sorts?
like: window near bed -- need fresh air!
like: window seat with view for daydreaming, reading, writing
like: slide out shoes shelves
like: spacious closet
