Detail is about right; needs coffered ceiling, has lots of window and a fireplace. Note that our fireplace will be a litle less interesting because of its flat front....need a hearth and mantle
Dark wood, just to try it out
cabinetry goes to, and into the ceiling coffer structure
bigger window, window seat; they work has fireplace...too ornate; wood is too red, needs more interesting floor. Should we only do a ceramic floor around the outside, planning on a Persian rug for the center; certainly that's what will happen
Lighter wood, bigger window, taller
hard to tell what's here. Note that the cabinetry goes all the way to and into the ceiling periphery
Too refined, but it has beams with light background for ceiling
another wood cabinetry for library; the thin wall in the foreground is awful.
wood cabinetry, wood coffered ceiling, wood floor, very ugly light fixtures. Needs bigger window, less dark wood, ceramic floor; and the fireplace can relieve the wood poisoning I like the ladder (and the furniture fails the relevance test). We also need large floor lamp in library.
There's a medium grey wood high ceiling
neutral wood, coffered ceiling, simple cabinetry, doesn't work for me at all.
neutral wood ceiling, white plaster, high ceiling, wood inner windows
interesting
interesting
Somewhat like this
ceramic arch (too small) ceramic floor, too dark cabinetry high ceiling
Light wood (some painted) lots of outdoor light, high ceiling, wood beams and t&g. One of the things which may work here is decreasing contrast
wood beams, ceramic floor, white plaster walls neutral cabinets; not our look, but materials work
neutral wood, dislike the contrasting island, white splash, lights are somewhat like those at Kirkwood
Now there's an "arch"
ceramic tile floor, ceiling beams too dark, light cans too apparent, neutral cabinetry, white splash
neutral wood, white backsplash, wood inner windows white plaster
natural wood beams (neutral) wood inner windows/doors, white plaster, neutral wood cabinetry; needs contrast of ceramic floor, higher ceiling, more windows
high ceiling, ceramic floor, major beams, white plaster, natural wood, large hood
cooking arch too low and too small
the disaster of too much too dark wood; saved only by the white backsplashes and light ceramic floor and light countertops.
neutral (a little too dark) wood, white backsplashes, light floor; with enough window light this might get close; would prefer dark countertops
lighter backsplashes (white subway tile) and a lighter ceramic floor, and white plastered walls, might make the rest of this work
natural wood cabinets (too red/yellow), wood inner windows, lighten up the wood, change floor to a lighter ceramic and deal with beams in the ceiling.
ceramic floor, wood cabinets; relieves the too much wood syndrome
Swap the brown of the backsplash for white subway tile, and the white cabinets for natural wood, make sure there's enough light from windows, and avoid the dark grey of the foreground
More evidence that a different colored island looks nutty
ceramic floor, natural wood cabinets, painted wood door, light countertops (not my favorite), and the "can" lights are too apparent...looks like a modern showroom
ceramic tile (quite light...maybe an idea) floor, herringbone pattern of tile under hood (broader arch would look better) high ceiling with natural wood beams (still a little dark and heavy), natural wood cabinets with plaster walls. The island's a waste....too dark.
White plaster (not enough), neutral (too yellow or red) wood, inner window wood; missed the chance for a white backsplash and needs a ceramic floor; has dark countertops
natural wood (too yellow) with ceramic floor (too yellow), missed the chance for a white subway tile area behind stove, dark counters.
neutral wood, tile, white plaster, weak wood beams; lighter interior than most, but still natural materials
neutral wood cabinetry with white quarry tile
Another one; too high an outer arch, an arch within an arch, the outer arch is thin and irrelevant, but broad which is more pleasing than the inner arch
neutral wood, wood inner window, brown walls....too much brown...needs white or some other differentiation
natural wood inside window with white tile. Looks good
dark countertops, natural wood inner windows, wood beams (no t&g), natural wood neutral cabinetry (ugly grey/black in island); too dark, needs a ceramic floor to escape all the wood
Natural wood beams (too dark), t&g (too dark), inner window natural wood, cooking arch
Polished tile floor, wood beam, somehow this is ok
"old"
