House
Porch love. It seems the covered porch isn't in vogue right now, but I love the exterior of this house. Coming from an infill, I want it to be very much "house" and not box-like which is so prevalent in the infill world. I also don't want a house that is just a "flat front" - I want texture, depth and dimension. Also really like the black framed windows.
Is this an outdoor space?
I like the peaked ceilings
I like the peaked ceilings
Maybe Carl will disagree, but I find the open cubbies show the mess.
great tile on the floor
I also like darker colours in the mud room - does white just show the dirt?
Cute mudroom idea with the family calendar - ours is on the fridge now - would be nice to have a home for it
I would like a front entry (not this big) - but a pause before the house. I don’t want to open the door and walk into my kitchen, living room, etc.
Like the other photos, I like all of the windows in the back of the house. Envisioning a Mexican or Italian style home where you don't see all of the living from the front of the house, but the back is open and connected to the outdoors/courtyard with lots of windows and natural light. We really want a connection/flow to the outside.
a wall of windows - for the back of the house - creating that connection to the outside. As the lot is elevated I believe we have a bit of a view and would like to take advantage of that.
Love the glass wall at top (craft room/office?)
I love the wall of windows from the Henry. Can we have the back of the house full of huge windows like this?
Cozy window seat for the girls’ rooms. I had mentioned a built in desk before, but I think we can accomplish that with the combo craft room/office where the girls can work and do their homework. Connection is important. But a nice window seat for reading is lovely.
Large windows; connection to outside
Connection to the outdoors
This is the house on 14th ave that also has an attached garage - but no side entry. Just showing for reference. I like that people cannot peer into your yard from 14th.
I like the large windows in the back that open to a cozy oasis that is a private space.
I like the large windows at the back of the house with a view to the west.
Windows and natural light are a priority. I'm not sure what the view is from the back of our lot, but if there is one, I would like to optimize it.
I like window seats, but practically speaking they look uncomfortable and do they get used? If we could do something like this but cozy for the girls rooms that would be great.
This just looks cozy. Maybe something in the basement? The George had a cozy corner like this that I liked.
connection between outdoor space and kitchen.
love the flow.
I know elsewhere I say the window seats look uncomfortable, but this one is nice and big and I Love the bookcase/shelf.
Where is that cat coming from? The litter box room? Exciting.
We need somewhere for the pet food bowls (and litter boxes). Cats love nooks too!
Maybe a bit much but we will likely always have a pet (cat family at the moment). So ideally at least a home for the food bowls and litter boxes.
Pet nook!! (Or kid nook?) everyone loves at least one nook in a house, minimum. (Carl hates this.)
Window seat; central crafting table. I do not like the colors - just the concept. But I don't think we'd want a bar height craft table - but rather something that can double as a school work desk, puzzle table, craft table, etc. Large and accessible/useable by everyone in the family.
I like the standing craft tables - easy access to craft supplies. Lots of natural light. Carl thinks this is too messy and likes the idea of one long table. I also think bar height is uncomfortable to work on.
Love, love, love this. Love window seats. Love the size and huge windows. Craft room/my office? I want it to be a really nice gathering place for the family
Love this outdoor area - from this MLS listing: https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/24882339/3025-3-street-sw-calgary-roxboro?utm_source=consumerapp&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=socialsharelisting
love how this connects.
The entry to the covered patio
All of the drawers and cupboards - lots of bathroom storage
