Acacia Avenue Courtyard Project
I like the feel of the seating group, if we were to add a landing outside of the French doors that we convert from the dining area. Not sure how much we would sit outside in the courtyard, but it could come in handy if we needed extra seating for a small dinner party. My gigantic table currently seats eight people.
The reason I saved this picture is because I like the use of DG, especially since my goal with any plantings in the courtyard is to keep them low water. It faces north, doesn’t get much sun, and I don’t want to have to have a lot of sprinkler action going on in that area, especially if we add an area for dining/seating.
Examples of plants I love.... Dymondia, poppies, Santa Barbara daisies, alyssum (love that it reseeds itself), soft grasses (although they can be a huge pain when they spread)....also like salvias...anything that attracts butterflies & hummingbirds....also want to incorporate my Strawberry tree currently in large pot in courtyard. Realize they may not work, not enough sun.
I saved this because I just adore this gate! We currently have a gate that we do not use on the east side of the house. You may or may not have noticed it when you were doing your measurements. It would be nice to create a functioning pathway from our mailbox area up to the gate and replace it with something nicer than the current boring wood gate that’s there.
An idea to dress up the window that we have in the front area. It is very similar.
Ha ha, I’m sure I can’t do this but I’m just sending it to you because it’s so dang cool.
