wine cellar inspirations
Don't like this exactly, but like how there is a "display" area with some highlighting light. In theory, the ladder is pretty cool, but probably a little impractical (logistically, climbing up and down with wine bottles and moving it around) but we should consider how tall the ceilings will be in the basement. Perhaps we can put box tops and artwork up top?
If you pushed these wine storage racks back behind a glass wall/door, but brought the stone accents to just outside the refrigerated area, then you can enjoy the glass in the "tasting room" feeling warm, but enjoying the atmosphere of the wine cave look. Will refrigeration in the wine storage area cause condensation on the glass doors/windows? What humidity is needed?
Wood and stone combination works well. Stone accents are enough to give it a rustic feel. Tile floor makes for easier clean up if spilled, need a place to put the barrels. Will the winery stuff look ugly in the "cellar" (plastic barrels??) and should they have a separate area so it doesn't detract from the look of the room?
Nice with the walk in area, open space on the floor for barrels (or whatever you think would come from the vineyard), stone to make it feel like a cave... but needs better use of space. Horizontal bottles take up too much space and Kevin already has a large stash. Wood racks to hold the wine would make the space feel warmer even though in temperature it would be cold.
I don't like the commercial look of this and the multiple heavy/stainless steel doors, but the idea of an enclosed area for the wine that is cooler and a sitting area OUTSIDE of the cold area but next to it seems nice. Perhaps multiple windows and one door is all that is needed, make the cooler room a little deeper so you can walk around inside more. I like the idea of stone/beam accents in the "tasting" area to make it feel more like a cave, maybe even more rustic than this.
I don't like all the over the top heavy wood, but I like how there is a defined space for the bar/tasting area and then the wine cellar entrance within that space.
