Love how this article compares types of pergolas
Love the way they frames the views here and kept the space open yet protected and covered with the roof.
Cute décor if we wanted to tie in the lake elements to the outdoor kitchen and use as color accents.
Love the lighting and the fan in the outdoor kitchen.
Like that they have a hammock and ceiling fans to keep the space cool. Could be nice particularly if we do have a covered roof rather than open pergola to circulate air and have a nice space to nap outdoors. Jess-yes, this is lovely! Too bad it seems difficult to make this happen
Beautiful space if we wanted doors that slide open all the way but also provide the option to enclose the kitchen/seating area outside.
Love the integration of ceiling beams into the pergola or outdoor kitchen area. Might be nice to tie to the style inside the house with beams.
Love that the ceiling to this pergola is half covered to protect the kitchen while the other portion is open. Also love the use of warm wood tones with white beams. Might be a cool idea to replicate what we have inside our house.
Love the hanging light fixtures and the warm wood used for the pergola here. Also the kitchen counter area looks very functional and spacious with storage. I like also that there is a walk-up bar area so friends can perch and chat while you cook.
Dislike - Use of columns. Seems cheesy and over the top.
Love the use of lighting and creating a clear area for dining and cooking.
Love the defined eating and sitting areas. Also really like having some more modern elements of lighting to be able to use the space at night for dinner parties.
Love having the places to put hanging baskets of flowers for pops of color. Jess: agreed! Looks really nice.
Dislike - Do not like the flourishes or wings on the ends of this pergola. Looks like it would match an adobe or Santa Fe house but not ours.
I like that they created a defined seating area under the pergola with kitchen then to the side. Not sure though that this pergola provides enough shade for our full sun court area.
Raises the question for me of whether we should match the stone/countertops of the outdoor kitchen to the fire pit.
I like the rustic Mediterranean feel of this pergola/outdoor kitchen area. Makes me consider whether to include a pizza oven too.
I like the closer slats in this pergola. Feels like it creates a private room and provides more shade. Perhaps too modern for our house but looks clean.
Dislike - The use of colors with the furniture and the striped columns is too whimsical for me.
I like the incorporate of a deer antler chandelier there for lighting. Something that we already own at a house in Texas and could use in our outdoor pergola/dining area. Jess-would be amazing up figure out how to hang the antler chandelier outside
I like the way they used the pergola and walls to frame the view into the woods through a 'window'.
Dislike - I don't feel like the pergola wood tone goes with the stonework chosen here. The colors in the materials seem disconnected and do not match or flow in texture either.
Dislike - I do not like the use of Greek columns. It does not match my nor this image's house style and seems out of place and tacky.
Interesting idea to have curtains along the perimeter of the pergola to block wind or keep in warmth. Not sure I like the look but different.
I like that the roof tiles on the pergola match the main house roof, making it look like an original feature to the home's design.
I like the integrated stone work into the outdoor kitchen portion and mantle. Also again ceiling is open with no walls but sky lights let in natural light. I also like the chandelier used as a lighting feature.
Open air pergola/ceiling. I like the sky lights in it and use of stacked stone for a support column/mantle.
Layout of kitchen and dining. Possible materials used for kitchen work with our bitterroot and Ipe
