Marla Ideabook for Mattei landscaping
this company did Odette winery which has a fence design I like a lot and also a pierced metal detail that I like too. Got there name from someone who works at Odette. This company does interior design and lighting design etc.
dining chair Arper Leaf. $400 each!
raised platform and step up to it are of interest..as ideas for pavilion. Been wondering if it is possible to phase the pavilion and add roof later??
outdoor furniture in my colors!
could be a way to get more sound from vertical fountain...I would do taller and less "steps" but it is an idea.
the guy who did this fountain is in Morgan Hill! Paolo Benedetti of Aquatic Technology Pool and Spa. Should I contact him? He sounds like he has huge ego from his website and probably prices to match.
love the open "corner" of that one room...thinking of something like this for pavilion. Also like combo of colors, geometrical planes and shapes and textures
raised cube infinity edge in teal
I think I showed you this raised infinity edge cube fountain...may not be necessary to go to this length
I am going to a stone place in Vacaville on Friday...they have a bunch of stone veneers. One that looks like this only in white. I will try to get samples.
I like white hydrangeas
fun tree to do behind master lounge wall?? in this shape
citrus (or other tree) in pots...I like this but would space further apart. either in back area with fruit trees or behind master lounge wall
I know you asked me about cement walls like these with "oozing" and I said I didn't like them...but if they are cheap and can be done in white white cement...I might like them
maybe have the counter extend beyond roof line of pavilion and put bbq out from under roof?
kinda like the rounded ends of these ...instead of rectangles. seems more inviting to navigate than sharp corners. Not sure I want silver though. Paint them?
would stairs like this work off living room so that access from 2 ways?
white raised bed boxes with gravel next to them. Looks like these are painted wood.
I like the white cabinets, grey counters for outside. floor is interesting material.
pavilion...how to make it interesting? different wall materials, colors, and lengths like this?
the white pierced metal at top of photo with circle design...could make interesting art on bedroom lounge wall or outside Henry's window....
floating concrete with large white rocks under and lit...idea for pavilion
beautiful floor tile color and size. If I were to do grey anywhere...
counter top, silver appliances, white cabinets
the Milestone floor, the white counter, the leaf dining chairs all of interest
this is of interest for the lines of the roof/arch...trying to figure out how to make the living room/dining pavilion roof line interesting
I like the lighting set into the driveway...could be a cool way to tie the driveway into the walkway to the front door
interesting walkway of circles...like how it crosses two different colors of green too. possibly do somewhere? not sure I like it that much
of interest for large gravel area. stairs, color scheme of white, green. vertical mult-trunk trees uplit. cloud pruned stuff metal edging (not in black though)
Annabelle Hydrangeas. Like leaf, round flower, white and height...maybe under kitchen window?
grow outside Henry's window in ZipTower? or backyard somewhere or tree lawn?
pruned cloud plants against flat white wall vs. ledger wall
No Mow Red Fescue meadow like ground cover! Love. *Yes- I love it as well. Did it under a grove of birch trees that was stunning for a while. Looks good in a large expansive area, but unfortunately in my experience, not year round. Most are cool season grasses which need heavy water through summer even though listed as drought tolerant. I tend to use this in areas now between the landscape and woods or agricultural. Hillsides too.
round entrance/gateway idea for master lounge area entry??? * a bit much for a small space
This is the "softening" effect I was thinking of outside my kitchen window area...long grass with wispy white flowers but then a narrow path through it...like this short grass. *this is lovely, wild, natural and works well in a large area. That is an unmowed grass with Queens Anne’s lace weeds. For your place, I would choose a feel that looks good more than a short season like this. This will often simply look messy in a small space.
I do like a lot of white hydrangeas together en masse...maybe near kitchen window or where I have previously thought of putting citrus trees behind Master bedroom lounge area? What do you think? *this look is doable, but hydrangeas need shade as they get burned very easily. Other white, billowing options are flower carpet rose, verbenas, lantanas, allysum, lobelias....These can all be used in a layer effect with citrus and even white oleander or white crape myrtle.
Fringe Tree (Chionanthus virginicus) , does this grow in Napa? How tall at maximum? *virginicus does not but other varietals like Retusus can. They get about 20x20
living wall and the plants at base. What are the plants at the base? I like this idea as possible back wall for master bedroom lounge area. *brunnera or asarum? Not sure. These walls are so fun. They take a lot of detailed maintenance and perfect irrigation. I wouldn’t advise it unless you’re maintenance person is really amazing.
living wall...on side yard? or in master lounge area on wall?* extremely high maintenance. It’s best to keep a small nursery on site for constant replacements of plants.
could the wall outside master bedroom be done with live wall in some cool pattern? Not this pattern, but some sort??* who is your maintenance person? Are they extremely detailed oriented? This needs weekly minutiae pruning to maintain. The shrubs are about 4’ wide in order to achieve, which really cuts into your space. Super fun!
vertical hydroponics...on side of house???* this is when I say... Beth- a hydroponic system?! You going to raise tilapia too?!
could we do trees like this to block neighbor versus cypress? Not these as they are deciduous, but I suppose one could train standard privets (if they can be found) to do this.
some notes in comment section said Hedera canariensis or buxus ground cover * ivy and boxwood is what you are looking at.
how did they do the stair risers? real grass or fake something?*neither. its perfectly clipped boxwood
petnaque court with trees. night lighting of trees and water feature. clipped cloud planting* very doable and is what I had in mind
sort of like the fireplace I want in pavilion
