Office
- this office/area is a bit messy and not to my liking, however, what I do like is the use of the interior wall space. the space between the drywall, although only 4 or 6", can be useful for creating nooks such as the one shown in this picture. I feel its a good use of space, if the space allows. (not so good, if the other side a bedroom or bathroom but in the case of our design, this wall could be the stairwell.
- this looks like a wall bed. another option for my office/sewing space as it can be turned into a spare bed if the need arises; however, this will take up space otherwise used for storage so I would really need to think outside the box and be creative with the other walls in order to still have everything I need for an office and a sewing area. This might be a good reason to use a moveable island... it can be moved out when I need to sew or do computer work and then moved back into the wall when not needed.
- ikea cabinet/desk. already have 2 of these from ikea but in the taller model. might be a good use of space to get a couple of these for use as in picture... this would allow me to get rid of bins. - another idea is to use my Antonius cupboards as a desk base; as these are open.. may give the room a more open feel. I could either purchase a desk top from Ikea or try to use the wood slab currently in the kitchen as the workspace top.
good use of wall space to accommodate both a sewing room as well as an area for office/computer use. - cubby closet with a drop down ironing board is a great idea as well. - enclosing a portion to look like a closet is also a great idea, as you can just add plain shelving to hold items in an organized manner and then just close the doors to hide it (open when in use)
- again, use of a 'movable' island with a pull up desk that can be used to cut fabric. look closely and you can see the tape measure along the side of the island for measuring the fabric. - this looks like the Ikea kitchen table - cubby holes in the middle would support the storage of wrapping paper.
- like the way they added cube box storage along the back wall which adds a shelf for decorative items. - again, a protruding desk/counter area. they have the sewing machine on an up-down platform, so that (I suspect), the machine can be lowered and the counter then becomes flat and clear. - use of open and closed storage areas above the desk/work space good use of vertical space when room is small.
long table for sewing use. bars for holding wrapping paper
good idea for storing gift bags
good use of vertical space and extended desk/table space
use of vertical space and desk/table space extending out from wall.
not fond of the color but a very clean look to the office. lots of storage drawers and closed spaces.
