Julie's ideas
I really like so many aspects of this house. Layout of first floor in particular. It is bigger than we need, I think, esp the extensive basement. (No movie room or enormous wine cellar. Excerise area instead though. ) It may be worth devoting more time and money to a house like this than adding an adu right now. (Maybe have it in a master plan). Some of the lighting decor is too much -- not interested in extensive backlighting, and I might prefer some other type of railing indoors. It is one of the best houses I have looked at recently.
I liked the first floor layout -- could imagine the piano in the front living room, dining area as oriented. We might not have enough space for the width required for a front office and a back bedroom en suite. Might want the formal dining room to have more windows, rather than sliders, could look out on redwoods and birch trees. Nicely, the kitchen cooking area can be closed off from the dining music area. I don't mind carrying groceries from garage to kitchen when you don't have to pass by the front door. It is nice to be able to take backstock to the basement area conveniently.
More interesting window bay style
