Landscape 144 Marvin
We like the open look of this portico and but don’t like the reclaimed wood. The concrete porch looks clean, but we’re also open to a wood porch or stone. Cost is a consideration. Concrete does have the effect of making this entrance loose some warmth but I’m guessing our porch would be smaller anyway.
Cape Cod has lots of houses with wood front porches and this design has the added benefit of providing egress to the driveway where we would like to park our car. I could envision wood decking filling the area of the house to the left of the new front door but I could also see that area being new plantings.
We would like a pergola in the backyard with decking below and if we choose to put right off back of house we want a little privacy screen from the neighbors facing the West side (if facing front door to the right). This wood wall is a bit too imposing but maybe wood planter with taller plants. If we can afford, fireplace like this could be nice in phase 1 by this design too modern.
Simple and clean side yard design
We do like berms as well which can be integrated in front and/or backyard
Magnolias good choice
