The Pollard Residence
The three steel elements, the canopy, the skylight roof structure and the front gate, form a sculpture against the blank wall facing the street, which was built to create privacy. Gray steel-troweled stucco creates the impression of poured-in-place concrete. The open gate reveals a private entrance courtyard, which has uplights to illuminate the canopy and to avoid the need for the blemishes created by downlighting.
