Nicholas Walker and his team worked in conjunction with his brother Malcolm to create a stunning series of Belgian Blue Stone terraces and pathways to connect the diverse sections of the property and integrate the indoor and outdoor living experience.
They designed a sheltered cactus oasis, organic culinary garden and an intimate Ipe observation deck as virtual rooms linked by the elegant stone pathways and framed by the sea.

Taproot Garden DesignNearly 1/4 of the property was converted to growing fruit trees and vegetables to serve a family of four. Several raised vegetable garden beds, two trellised grape vines, a fig tree, a Fuji apple tree, a Honeycrisp apple tree, and two different Avocado trees will provide fresh, organic fruit for the family in the coming years. A custom built fence was built around the entire food production area to keep the family's canine out of mischievous activities.
Jackie and the BeanstalkThe view of the infant rose garden with the vegetable area behind. Multi-colored Alstroemerias were planted along the white fence to add some color. They were purchased from Garden Glories Nursery in San Diego, which specializes in Alstroemerias.
Harrod HorticulturalDesigned and manufactured by us in the UK, the hoops are ideal for creating cloches, small poly tunnels and giving plenty of growing height (over 1m in the case of the larger hoops). Available in five sizes which will span raised beds or plant rows as small as 48cm/19" wide right up to 168cm/66".
We also offer mounting brackets (available separately) to use the hoops in raised beds above the soil or simply push the hoop straight into the ground. If additional and rigid support is required (it might be windy at the allotment), turn to our heavy-duty steel ground anchors (available separately). Anchors are supplied in sets of 2 (for a single hoop), 6 (for 3 hoops) and 12 (for 6 hoops).
Our new Hoop Linking Rods have been designed to add extra rigidity, clipping easily to the hoops and also to add additional support for netting when creating a cloche tunnel.
