Texas Green Gardens, Corp.Who doesn't want to spend time at a beautiful, contemporary backyard fireplace setting? This fireplace setting is a great location to entertain friends and family on cool evenings. This view shows a flagstone fireplace, moss rock benches and a flagstone path surrounded by natural crushed granite. The entire setting is surrounded by lovely green shrubbery, vines, decorative grasses and river rock.
Urban Elements LandscapesThe aptly named project “ The Rise”, presented some design and construction challenges due to the steepness of the site.
A highly detailed plan allowed UEL to facilitate a magnificent finished project, much to the satisfaction of our client.
The project entailed detailed concrete subbases to facilitate natural stone surfaces, with great consideration to retaining of the sloped ground through a series of natural timber terraced retaining walls. Much thought was also put into drainage on the site, to prevent ongoing issues with natural water movement. The soil preparation and extensive plant list provides the clients with a garden that will satisfy their love of horticulture for years to come.

C2 | Studio Landscape ArchitectureA conceptual framework of long, straight lines anchors the landscape design for this proposed contemporary house set in a rural wetland environment. Against this datum, the site’s subtleties reveal themselves for interpretation and appreciation. The iconic element of a strong axial grass ‘runway’ serves both as a horizontal extrusion against which to read the natural topography and also as a platform for viewing the site’s wetlands. A monolithic retaining wall stratifies the entry area into a lower, private parking court and an upper, public one, which is further defined by a series of rough-hewn stone planters containing formal plantings of dogwoods. These planters break the plane of the retaining wall and extend to the ground, alluding to the substantial bedrock deposits that underlie much of the site. Stepped down from this plane is the fire pit terrace, nestled into the rocky structure of the site and offering views towards a vernal pond.

UserThis garden has been created thinking about the concept of Essence in two meanings: the first, and more obvious, concerns the extract obtained from a plant; the second, the deep human feeling of “being”, the intrinsic nature of self. In an era where every resource is widely available, we can easily forget about the true meaning of wellbeing. This garden wants to focus on the production of wellbeing and explore the relationship between nature and health. The productive space develops around a spiral, a link to classic architecture and to the pattern commonly found in nature. The curved path sits on a rocky landscape encuraging a slow walking pace. The planting all around aims to stimulate the visual and olfactory senses: from the sculptural olive trees to the aromatic borders, almost all the species selected have uses in aromatherapy as medicines or cosmetics. At the center of the garden a seating area invites the visitors to settle back, while a gentle sound of dripping water transports them into a serene meditative state.
